The first one I saw was the Voyage Home. I didn't start watching Original Trek until the late 80's. but I caught up quick. I took my baby brother with me because I got him involved in Trek also. This is the ONLY Trek movie my mom can stand because she HATES Trek.

I've only ever seen the 09 one in theaters, but I LOVED it. I had seen Star Trek before, but I was too young to remember vividly. But THIS... this was just AWESOME. I quickly learned that there was a whole lot more of the awesomeness that is Trek to be found, and I can neither wait for the convention nor the sequel. Fortunately for us we don't HAVE to wait much longer for the con, it's TWO DAYS away. See ya there, even if I don't recognize ya!

The first one I saw in theaters was Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I was 8 or 9 and had been watching TOS with my older sisters for 2 or 3 years.
The buildup for the movie was incredible. Tons of commercials, comic books, etc. I still have the toy secret-compartment enterprise ring that I got in a Happy Meal in 1979!
As for the movie itself, the refurbished enterprise, new uniforms, better Klingon effects and overall amazing (by comparrison to TOS) special effects were a highlight for me. The plot itself, though, confused my little brain and I just didn't get it.

Well, Star Trek 2009 I guess. The rest I saw on DVD's.
I would've loved to see others, say, First Contact in the theater. Too bad I wasn't old enough to care.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture - was only nine at the time so I really did not understand what was going on and from what I can remember was a little disappointed because of that. Have since watched it many times and find it a very good story.

The first Star Trek movie I saw in theaters was Star Trek 2009. Actually, I saw it in theaters last weekend, and it was awesome. It was cool to see the movie that got me into Star Trek on the big screen. I wish I could've seen other Star Trek movies in theaters, though, like The Voyage Home (too bad I wasn't alive then) and First Contact (too bad I was too young to understand).

Nemisis. I was a senior in high school and was upset that I missed opening night b/c of a debate tournament. But I went the next day by myself b/c I didn't have any Trek friends at the time.
I honestly thought it would be the last movie. I'm glad it's not, b/c I thought it was disappointing.

The first time I saw Trek on the big screen was The Search for Spock, but my dad got us to the theater 15 minutes late so I missed the entire opening.
