James Doohan is Canadian!!! Served as a Lt in the Cdn Artillery.
Was on Juno Beach on D-Day. Hit 6 times by a Cdn Sentry (friendly fire), where he had his finger amputated as a result.
Very lucky to survive.

Not really. Tim Russ has a really cool band that I have seen and danced to at Star Trek conventions.
Besides, I am one of the few people (and don't bite my head off, please) who did not like the character of Tuvok. To me, he was too stiff as a Vulcan, but again, please don't yell at me, it's just my taste. But I did like him as the bridge officer in Generations.
Tim Russ is actully a multi-talented person who has done many things even better. Besides having his own band and writing songs, Mr. Russ is a screenwriter, book author, voice-over actor, and has acted in many, many TV shows.
Peace.

Tuvok was my favourite character from Voyager.
I remember reading the press release for Voyager when it first aired and thought the idea of a Vulcan Tactical Officer was a great idea - a big departure from your standard Vulcan Science Officer.
I have been rewatching Voyager from the begining and have found a great appreication for the Tuvok character than I did when it went through its first run through.

>Despite the bad blood that there seems to be between Babylon 5 and DS9, the two shows are connected in many ways:
>- DC Fontana, who wrote episodes for TOS and worked on TNG, wrote a few Bab 5 episodes.
>- Michael Ansara, who played Kang ( a Klingon) on TOS, DS9 and appeared in Voyager Flashback, played a mage on Bab 5.
>- Walter Koenig, TOS's Pavel Chekov, had a recurring character on Bab 5: the psycop Bester
>- Patricia Tallman, who played a telepath on Bab 5 (Lyta Alexander) appeared on TNG, DS9 and VOY
>- Andreas Katsulas, Bab 5's G'Kar was te Romulan Commander Tomolok on TNG
>- And finally, Adam Nimoy: Leonard Nimoy's son, directed a couple of Bab5 episodes.
> |
There were dozens of actors who had at least some participation in both Star Trek & Babylon 5. You already mentioned my favorite of them (Andreas Katsulas as G'Kar/Tomalak), but you missed Majel Barrett who played a Centauri in B5. Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun/Brunt/Shran) was in an episode of B5. Also Daniel Dae Kim, who played the first officer in Crusade (the B5 spinoff), played Corporal Chang in Enterprise, as well as other ST roles. As for the bad blood, that has to do with JMS pitching B5 to Paramount which rejected the idea, but incorporated quite a few details into the development of DS9.

Jeffery Combs auditioned for Riker.
Also, Rene Auberjonois was directing Family Business and knew Combs from the theater and convinced them to cast him as Brunt, at first they didn't like the idea of casting him again because he already played Tiron in Meridian.
He is one of only five actors to play seven or more different characters in Trek.
Jolan Tru, may your day be filled with peace.
