Let's post unusual facts that we know about the Star Trek shows and movies.

It could be a star's guest appearance on other shows/movies, things that happened during the making of a show or movie, trivia about the stars themselves, etc.

This covers all Star Trek series and movies.  This could be fun and we can find out things that somebody else might know that we didn't know.

I'll start wiith the next post.

All In the Family had two stars from Star Trek as guest stars.

Stephen Manley, who played 17-year-old Spock going through Pon Farr in "The Search for Spock", also played Mike Stivic's supposed 5-year-old son Danny Sanders n the episode "Mike's Mysterious Son".

Did you know Kate Mulgrew and Andrew Robinson (Janeway - Voyager and Garek DS9) both starred in a soap opera Ryan's Hope in the 1970s? A film clip can be found in the "Isn't that what's his name" thread.

In 1964, before Star Trek TOS, both William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy guest starred in an episode of the spy drama The Man from U.N.C.L.E. called "The Project Strigas Affair".

Four "Star Trek" actors appeared on the original "Twilight Zone".  We all know that William Shatner appeared in the famous episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet".  He also appeared in an episode called "Nick of Time".

Leonard Nimoy appeared with Dean Stockwell in "A Quality of Mercy".  James Doohan appeared in the hour-long episode "Valley of the Shadow".  George Takei appeared in an episode that was rarely shown until the last ten years or so, "The Encounter".

Did you know of the M*A*S*H and Star Trek connection? (M*A*S*H is my other favorite besides Star Trek):

Sally Kellerman played Elizabeth Dehner in TOS' "Where No Man Has Gone Before" and she also played Hot Lips in the original M*A*S*H movie.

Rene` Auberjonois played DS9's Odo and also played Father Mulcahy in the original M*A*S*H movie.

Rosalind Chao played TNG"S and DS9's Keiko and also played Klinger's wife Soon Lee in the M*A*S*H TV show and the TV show that followed it called AfterM*A*S*H.

David Ogden Stiers played Dr. Timicin in TNG and also played Major Winchester on the M*A*S*H TV show.

Leonard Nimoy once appeared in the series Get Smart as a Kaos agent. He was hard to reconize though due to the fact that he wore dark sunglasses durring the episode.

one of the most common prop stollen on the TNG set was the control panel on the side of the viewscreen in the observation lounge. In BOBW p2 the prop is seen, or not seen, in at least 5 different locations during the comunication with Admiral Hanson alone.

Did you know?....

The part of Sybok, Spock's half-brother, was originally written for Sean Connery.  Could you just imagine how that would have been?

Anyway, the part ended up going to Lawrence Luckinbill, and he has an interesting, kind-of round about tie-in to the original Star Trek.  He was married to Lucie Arnaz, the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.  Lucy and Desi had founded Desilu, the company where the original Star Trek was filmed.

Kind of a cute little tie-in, huh?.......
