I think it would be a good idea to develop a series with the new orginal crew based on the new timeline from the new 2009. I would defently watch this type of show and I would find it very intersting to see how it would develop from the starting point of the movie and where they would go from there. It would be interesting to see some of old epidoses remade with today's techonolgy and what they would look like.
I wounder what others think.

Oh God - I hope not
I'm happy for them to a do a few standalone movies (if they must) - but please just leave it at at that.
I don't want other actors becoming over-familiar faces of long-standing and beloved characters right across the visual media. That is not respectful to the original actors, their legacy, and our treasured memories of them.
Please leave us with what little genuine origins we still have ... left intact
to boldy go where no man has gone before

I don't believe in wishing for that sort of thing. Not because I think it would be horrible, but because most of these guys are successfull movie stars, and to expect them to put their carreers on hold for 3, 4 ,5 or more years is not going to happen.
Maybe a show with a different group in this timeline could happen, maybe not. Till the movies are done with, I don't see a tv show being developed.

I hope they don't make a show after this type of timeline. The original is better.

there was talk of development of a new series based on the new style. I think it's a possibility if the movies continue to do well. But people will have to resign themselves that the old style trek is as gone as tos was when tng arrived.

Exactly. I'm actually okay with that as long as the stories are good.

I can't see the new crew doing a TV series because they're movie actors. The probablity of them being in a new series is pretty slim.
However, after the next couple of movies, I hope there will be a new series. But that all hinges on how the movies do. If the next do as well as the first one did, we might just get one. But that's not going to be for a while, unfortunately.
