Being on your phone was very different or it was different in here?

90% of the people use PCs why would you use anything else?

I have to add that I'm using a cellphone not for the web most of the time. Plus my processor is at 3.8 MHz (Phenom). My internet connection is a ISDN (& W-LAN) router at 6000 MBits and I have fax/picture-printer with scanner. I can't connect anymore my PC system or the 2nd UMTS blackberry with W-LAN. Neither has my printer a ethernet nor W-LAN interface with the modem.

With windows you have to take what your given and pay for it. It might be more stable than Mac (never had a MAc so not sure) but is hardly the most stable OS and appears to run OK on some machines whilst unstable on others. It appears to slow down the older it gets. It's easy to hack and is difficult to keep it secure and expensive on 3rd party (MacAfee and Norton) subscriptions. You cannot open the program files and make changes to the software. It can only run MS windows software.
Linux has a structured architecture that makes it very secure and is virtually unhackable. Is open source so is free of charge to the user. Can be run securely without a firewall, is not open to viruses, trojans , worms etc, etc, so no need to pay for security. Also is impervious to spyware. Uses open source software so you can modify and change programs. Can even run windows programs using the 'Wine' software. (also free to use). Can open and manipulate windows files so is ideal for hacking windows machines. Doesn't slow down and never crashes and can even be run on older PC's (although runs a lot slower) but this means you don't have to keep buying new hardware just to run the lastest version.
Probably its only downside is that it is not generally compatible with dedicated windows/Mac hardware devices, but with all the hardware on the market nowadays I can usually find something that will do the job.
One or two good reasons to use something else there.
