Do you think we should be alowed to change our username if you dislike yours. It could be so you can only change it a certain amount of times within a period of time. Anyway thoughts people.

It'd be great If I could hear what the admin has to say about the topic.

^^Well normally I'd agree with you, however I've noticed quite a few people wanting to change their username, myself included. Even if there was a way where you could contact the admin, but anyway.

I have had a habit of wanting to change my user name on countless websites. my ebay one in particular. its nascar related and im not all that interested in nascar like i was years ago when i joined. Some people like myself , think of something cool or funny and make it a screen name then as time passes think to themselves "why the hell do i have that screen name?" Im happy with mine on here. Long live the Enterprise K.1! Thank you to Enterprises F through K for already have those names. Without you I wouldnt have my name.

I am out of my Vulcan mind!

From experience I have found that forums that adopt a multi username policy tend to attract stalkers and people that wish to disrupt the debating process by flaming and being generally offensive to other forumites.  If you want to see the quality of debate deteriorate to that of the school playground then introducing multiple usernames is the way to go.   So I voted no.

I mean I guess your username shouldn't matter to much I guess...

Well it would be nice but that option would probably be abused like the multiple accounts that people use to do.

I do not think this is an option that should be allowed. I am not trying to sound militaristic or anything, but with the amount of trolling and flaming that goes on here, I think such an option would allow too much room for mis-use and trouble.

Now, here is another option, and I know of some sites that do this-- when you sign up, you could have a specific username, but you could edit how it appears on your public posts... sort of a "nick name", as it is referred to on other forums. If people went on your profile, they could see your actual username as well, so there would be no confusion.

For a minute, I thought you were having a conversation with yourself! Lol

Anyway, I do like Roboto's idea. I never would have thought of something like that. I think it could work!

I think that a user's login is sort of their identity. It would be like changing your real name: no one would know who you are, and it would basically be like starting all over again as a brand new member of the site. It would be fun to change your name, or possibly do it because your interests have changed over time. Still, it would be confusing to other members.

Roboto, that is a GREAT idea. It still uses your original username, so it won't be confusing to others, but you can change it if you want to for any reason. I would actually like to change my username, but I know that number one, it isn't a feature as of right now, and number two, it would be very confusing. However, if we had nicknames, it would prevent all of that! Love it.

It would be nice.

I wonder how many people have multiple accounts?
