Well... the original RANDOM THREAD by Janewayjunkie seems to have vanished...

so, here's the place where nothing relates to anything else, and you can post anything that you want (that's appropriate)

I think I may have gotten it deleted by explaining why I personally enjoy Doctor Who more than Trek. Though I really hope they wouldn’t delete a whole, long-running, active thread just because of one person’s personal opinion.

:/

Really, really hope they wouldn’t do anything so silly. IDK, maybe something else happened after I logged off last night.

Indeed, I was quite enjoying our Dr Who chatting, 267198ed! Don't know what happened to the thread!

Anyways, down to the completely RANDOM again,
Today at school I got some results back. I got both the extremes, Maths (Algebra Test) Achieved+ (a nice way of saying, you're not too flash) and English (Essay) Excellence (a formal way of saying, you did great). Seeew.... as I said, the two extremes....

(Funny thing is, I thought I was doing pretty good in Algebra...)
(Well, its not that funny)

Indeed.

I can see them deleting a whole thread, if they didn't like what I, or anyone had posted then why not just delete those posts? What warrants the deletion of a whole thread?

FINALLY rented The Impossible Astronaut from iTunes! Gfhrbejfuirjhftejdks what the hell! Tomorrow ill get the 2nd episode! Very excited! And nervous!

jamestkirk420, Ehhhk... I know what you mean... I went to ST09 for my birthday too (in 2009, obviously) with 5 mates, that was 4 mates too many! Those 4 couldn't stop laughing. And for a reason that deludes me to this very day... apparently Spock's ears were funny.... ????????????????????????????????? *gag*spasm*gag*
(Of course, your situation was worse, friend, as I had previously seen the movie 1nce before my birthday)

Im not a fan of the cinema. I like a film I can pause at any point to get a cuppa and munchies if the need arises and my sofa/bed (depending where Im watching from) is infinately more comfier than any overpriced cinema seat.

"Let me see if Ive got this straight. You're risking the ship, the crew, and the mission on the assumptions that Helkara and Leishman are engineering geniuses, Tharp is a piloting savant, our transporter chief can work miracles, and the Breen are unwilling to sacrifice themselves in a kamikaze attack?" "Yup." "Damn I LOVE this job."

I hope so, but I found an old link in my history and it said that it had been deleted. No explanation though. Suppose we will never know.

Well, we could do a test by talking about how amazing Doctor Who is compared to Trek, etc, and see if this thread is also deleted! That’d be bad.

The Experiment begins! (the FINAL EXPERIMENT)

Doctor Who vs. Star Trek:

Main Characters:

Doctor Who: One (usually) cute-ish guy and his female companion who ranges from being rather cool (i.e. Donna Noble) to being whiney and annoying (i.e. Rose Tylar).

Star Trek: LOTS AND LOTS of main characters. An average of seven or eight main characters at the beginning who, depending on the audience's reaction to them, generally dwindle down to four or five who are focused apon (Voyager, anyone?).

Storylines:

Doctor Who: Generally time travel episodes, except for a few notable exceptions (School Reunion, Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky, etc.). Generally funny b/c of "fish out of water" scenario for the companion. Seems like there is a lot less death and violence than ST, but actually, most of the time you end up with scads of people dead by the end of the episode (Voyage of the Damned ends with four out of the original eight dead).

Star Trek: depending on the series, Star Trek could range from REALLY REALLY dark and violent (DS9, some of ENT) to rather light and funny (TOS, TAS, most of TNG except for the Borg episodes) to somewhere in between (VOY). Unlike Doctor Who, which rarely has a dull episode, or one that is boring/unwatchable, I find that a lot of ST series have at least four or five episodes per season that are just dull or unwatchable.

ok, I think i can leave it there. lets see what happens...

Is the world ready for a female Dr yet? They appear to desensitising us to it what with the Dr's daughter and the lovely Dr Soong (SP). Im not fussed either way myself, I just want that hilarious moment when 'he' looks down 'her'self for the first time and notices the new bumps.

The other thread got deleted? How nice.

I have some major editing to do on my essay for tomorrow. By "major" I mean that I have to rewrite the whole blasted thing.

Now what are you going to do if this thread ends up being deleted. Make another? That'd be the third, then. A bit many. *shrug* Do as you wish.

Goodbye. I am gone.

Ah, just finished watching Day of the Moon. Strange and wow. And I have many theories, none of which are solid in any way. Tomorrow I shall want the next episode.

This experiment didn’t really take sides, and my liking DW more than Trek was what killed the old thread, well, I doubt DocFanFive’s post will be the reason. Hopefully. Still I cannot see CBS/ST.com deleting a whole thread rather than a few posts.

So, speculation? Or should I wait and catch up on S6 first? Hrrrmmm.

Later then. But what do you think of the current Doctor and his companions?

Personally, I love Matt Smith’s performance. He is no where near as arrogant (yet) and David Tennant’s Doctor, and he has a very awkward way about him. How he runs, for example, is most grand. And when Amy tired to kiss him, and when River did. Ah, very entertaining. Somehow he has found a way to underplay the most important things in a way that makes you understand just how important they are. And, of course, he is delicious. Always a plus.

Amy? Unsure really, I like her for a lot of reasons, saving the star whale for example, but there are other things, things I cannot quite but my finger on that make me not want to like her that much.

Rory, well he is a bit like Mickey the Idiot, isn’t he. Well, Mickey if Rose hadn’t fallen for the Doctor. And they’re married, which is a little weird. But also nice to see that marriage hasn’t instantly fixed everything between them. Though he is still too self-consious, still seems to think that there is a possibility that Amy might choose the Doctor over him.

River Song.... well, I’m really no sure either, though I love the banter between her and the Doctor. Other than that I am a little skeptical, she hasn’t really given anything away, heck, she might not even be who she says she is. Not that she says much any how.

And who did she kill? Who is that little girl who regenerated? GAH! So many questions, and tomorrow seems to far away, silly night classes and slow school Wi-Fi!

Time for Randomness:

I did it again, I ate another evil, tasty gluten-filled sandwich of doom and stomach aches.  Why do I do this to myself? I am ridiculous.
