So in "Course Oblivion" the copy Voyager crew say they're about 2 years from Earth. Then the real Voyager comes right behind them. So does that mean that Voyager is now two years from Earth? So roughly S6 and S7 cover 1 year a piece?

well generaly a season is about a year anyway. But if you remember the last episode they were farther than a year away and they only got home because of a shortcut through one of the borg corridors

They were also 2 years away due to their engine upgrades that the real voyager never got.

How do we know that the real Voyager didn't get the "enhanced warp drive" even though they didn't specifically mention it in an episode? If the copy Voyager crew were exact copies wouldn't it be logical to assume that the real Voyager crew would make the same engine modifications?

I would think if they made such engine upgrads as to be only two years from home they would be mentioning it. That's a big deal compared to the 30+ years they were looking at.
I would also think if earth was 2 years away that Borg hub wouldn't be that big of a deal.

The upgrades we're visible on the warp core.
The clone voyager took a different path, encountered different aliens, and no doubt found different materials and technology. Clearly the clone Paris and B'lanna moved faster, lol.

there you go...that's exactly why the Equinox crew never encountered the Borg.

Oh, we're going THERE again. Borg space was kinda huge and hard to miss like going to Alaska but avoiding Canada. But, yes, entirely possible.

I never understood why the copies wanted to go to earth in the first place? They were aliens that took there form weren't they?
I was really confused by that whole story line. Didn't Voyager leave before the copies did? So wouldn't that mean that Voyager was ahead of the copies, which meant that Voyager had to change course and go back, right? So if they had to go back then they were more than two years away from Earth, no?
Am I making any sense?
This is one of the reasons why I would make a terrible star fleet officer on a ship.

they forgot they were copies. After a short time their memories of being Voyager crew members completely took over and they went about their lives as if they really were the real crew. once things started to fall apart they discovered they were the copies.
