Anyone who votes TAS must not have watched TOS. They cant compare. TAS gave great continuity but lacked the depth, facial expressions, and development of a live action hour long show.

Then 1 you shouldn't have bothered with TAS. You might as well watch voyage home without wrath of kahn or search for spock and 2 how can you vote in the subject without having watched both series?

I agree, considering TAS the fourth season of TOS. I don't even know why it was given its own board.

Lol. Good move, admins!
Roddenberry seemed like a crazy old man in the end. He didn't seem to respect TOS much either when he got to TNG. We really need a canonocity committee in this franchise.

Characters and story lines from tie-in novels, video games and Star Trek: The Animated Series are explicitly excluded from Star Trek canon, but that elements from these sources have been subsequently introduced into the television series, and says that "canon is not something set in stone. One example of a non-canon element that later became canon in the Star Trek universe was the name "Tiberius" becoming the official middle name of Enterprise captain James T. Kirk The name was introduced in the Star Trek animated series, and was later added into the official biography of the character.
Since I have no inside scoop into the Star Trek univerve what is or is not a cross over seems to change with whomever writes the next show or movie.

Elements of TAS were canonized other item's from the show were presented because of Sat morning format and do not belong in Trek canon.
A living 50 ft Mr Spock just does not work in the series ,films and books but is a great gag for kids programing.

There is little in TAS that conflicts with the rest, no more than in TOS. The USS Bonaventure being the first warp ship is one example. A 50ft Spock is silly but not so out there to bring down the relevance of ther series.
I see no reason why TAS shouldn't be treated as being as important and "real" as TOS.

i absolutely love both, but the animation in tas was horrible even for that era. the zoomed out little black figures running was laughable. but i think they were targeted to kids weren't they?
