I'd call that a real Galactic War.

My money would be on "The Founders," because they couldn't be assimilated. Interesting question. Anyone who is creative can beat the Borg.

I agree. Perhaps we can break it down here. What would be the collective resources that the Dominion could throw at the Borg. And would the borg be able to assimilate a Jem' Hadar and cure them of their addiction to the White?

So many questions, perhaps we can start a good discussion.

And the hardest of questions is"What would happen if a founder was assimilated?" A liquid Borg? Would the nanoprobes work on them? You're right there are too many questions. It would be good if the people answered them.

I would prefer that the Dominion win in that match up.

In the Ds9 books wasn't a Founder almost assimilated? I would think that given time borg could assimilate a founder. However on that note, I find it curious that we've never seen any evidence that borg have assimilated a shapeshifter of some kind and added it to the collective. I would think that such an assimilation would  change the borg significantly.

I would think a founder would just slip away before a borg could assimilate it.  It would be interesting to see what a fustrated borg looks like.  Speaking of the borg, I was just thinking how devestating for family of the assimilated  .  Just to know your love one was out there trapped as a borg. In the series and in the movies it was never mentioned , except for picard remembering his experience in first contact.

That's a great point because technically they aren't really dead just more of a POW, I wonder if Starfleet ever tried to devise a policy in which they try to free Borg drones?

No they probably don't pay it off for that they just look at it as a career change, those darn insurance people.

though i do agree that the Founders shape shifting ability would be an asset, in the end it would do them no good if the Jem'Hadar and the Vorta were assimilated.

If both sides would have same number of ships, even if Borg would have 10% less ships, Borg would win. Vortas and Jem Haddar's would be assimilated and shapeshifters would run away and hide.

Regarding Jem Haddar's and their addiction, nanoprobes would easily simulate white in their bloodstream, because, Borg's nanoprobes always adapt.

I'd like to see the havoc a Founder could wreck on a Borg Cube. They couldn't possibly contain or restrain it! It'd just jump round in it's liquid form destroying equipment and drones...

In an all out war between the two cultures, I'd have to go with the Borg. The Borg could assimilate the whole of the Dominion, EXCEPT the Founders. What do they do? Well, since about 98%(at a guess) of the Changeling population are all on the same planet at the same time. BOOM! What the Borg can't assimilate, they destroy.  And in pure numbers I think the Borg would win. As the Dominion's only military are the Jem'Hadar. The other humaniod races of the Dominion (Vorta, Karema(sp), Dosi) would be conqued and assimilated easily.
