I've had experiences like the one on the bus.  One day I took my son's girlfriend to the doctor and I had a star trek book in my bag.  I happened to look over and there was a guy wearing a star trek t-shirt.  I took my book out and showed it to him and he smiled and we got into a bit of conversation about trek.    With my family,  the funny thing is that they can be strong fans of something else and I always understand.   My youngest son discovered The X Files and was crazy about it and never missed an episode, and my eldest was obsessed with Babylon 5 and would stop everything to watch that.  (  Well, I did become a fan over B5 too )

I didn't mention my trekness much growing up.  Unless the topic came up.  I let my trek light shine bright during the hey day of tng when everyone was a johnny come lately fan.  Then I supressed it again unless I knew someone else was a fan.  The longer I stay on the boards though the more my trekkiness is leaking out.  Soon I will be wearing spock ears to work  ->sad face not angry

I think I am the only Trekkie in my country. I haven't met another Trekkie face to face. As you know It's really hard not to talk about an episode you just watched.

Today I wore my Spock t-shirt with pride. I got a lot of funny looks and laughs and stuff, but I wore it with raw Trekkie pride. Just tell them: "Don't hate what you can't rock!" and don't let anyone get in the way of your fandom.  LOL

I grew up in a house where I was the only trek fan.  I would watch reruns in my room.  Now I own a house and when the kids go to bed I can watch trek in the living room on the flat screen.  its great.

What country is that? Y'know though -- sometimes I also feel like I'm the only Trekkie in Dunedin!! (although probably wrong.)

Have you ever danced with a Tribble in the pale moonlight?

Same here-I have no one to watch the episodes with me or, if I had gotten a ST board game, to play that game with me.

I feel like I was switched at birth!

No one to play Star Trek SCENCE IT besides myself which stinks.

Uggh Ill get over it.

I hope it would be nice to have someone to watch episodes with
