And a good job too - wasn't it bad enough that Voyager had already gone down this regretable path without Enterprise following it too?

No, instead we had to suffer Crewman Daniels from the 29th century. I'd take a bad Q episode over a good Daniels episode any day of the week and twice on sunday.

I liked Q, but I was kind of glad they didn't introduce him on ENT.

I think the best Q stories were on TNG, but they lacked a certain pizzazz on VOY.  I'm afraid the storylines would have only gotten worse by ENT.

Q tries to preserve the space-time continum, not much it up.  Even when misbehaving, I don't get the impression he would mess up the timeline.

Q was perfect in his time as a foil to the seeming pomposity of Picard. They made a great double act.

Bringing him back to try the same with Janeway was a mistake because the chemistry didn't work - John DL was looking too old by then - and just smacked of the usual running out of new ideas - let's raid the previous shows for characters and stories. Voyager will stand out in history as the classic repository for revived ideas and one of the reasons why it sucked so much. It had a feeling of running out of steam very early on and then it moved into desparation city ...

To have him appear in Enterprise would have been exactly the same mistake. I mean why does a protagonist from one part of the universe of Trek have to automatically appear in another? It's because the writers have run out of steam, recognise the weakness of the current project, and look back towards past successes to help them revive things.

It's all far too formulaic and was one of ther reasons why Trek as a franchise got boring and bland.

The Q are non linear so maybe it isn't that he wasn't interested YET but that he wasn't interested ANYMORE.

Correct. They were still in their infancy, and Vulcans bored the Q anyway.

Humanity had only just caught Q's eye in TNG. Humans had not progressed enough to warrant a "Q episode" in Enterprise.

I agree with you.
