Interesting if we taxed every household that earns over 250,000 dollars at 100% it would only raise 1.4 trilllion dollars enough money to run the government for 141 days.  So can someone explain again how rasing taxes will eliminate the deficit?

Not raising tax isnt going to help eliminate debt either. I suppose it depends on how you measure each drop in the ocean.

It is actually funny if we just cut spending increases to just 2% of current levels we could be debt free by 2020.  That doesn't even invovle any reduction in spending just not increaseing spending as much.

Taxing the rich just feels good.

>- taxing the rich is not taxing their cash on-hand, it is taxing the money they are 'earning' (and before you confuse what YOU do to 'earn' money with what the rich do to 'earn' money, just remember THEIR money 'earns' itself and they literally have to do nothing).
Wow - the rich do "nothing" to earn their money?  So, taking their savings and building a business from scratch and investing and working 18 hour days is doing "nothing?"....

>- the rich have the vast majority of the money and wealth so, since that wealth would not exist without America existing, then America can draw upon that source of revenue that it maintains.
And this is a perfect example of why this country is so screwed up - Rusty's entitlement mentality perfectly shows that he thinks that it's okay to steal someone else's money because he says it doesn't belong to them.

This attacking the rich (class warfare) is beyond stupid.

This type of thinking is exactly why the rest of the world wants the USA to share it's wealth - and if we let this ignorant mentality continue, this will destroy our country.

>- it is like what parents tell you "you live under my house you live by my rules" ... oddly many corporations have already left, but they still claim to be American or that they love America.
Guess this is how Rusty explains parents abusing their kids....

Oh - and the government is NOT our parent, so once again, you're way off.  This isn't THEIR house, it's OURS!!!  He continues to ignore the "We the people" part (and it wasn't a font problem.)  The government works for us, not the other way around.

So when the not-so-wealthy class gets taxed, it's just tax, but when the rich get taxed, it's an entitlement.

And that's the kind of screwed-up mentality that has caused the systematic weakening of our economy.

No... That's not the issue - it's this whole redistribution of wealth viewpoint - take from the productive and give to the unproductive - it is destructive - and the appetite for taking someone else's money is never satiated - they keep wanting to take and take and take until there is no more.... And then what?

The "rich" didn't do anything to be hated and penalized.  As a group, they didn't steal anything from me, so why should I attack them (via the corrupt government?)

Just saw a video where the very college students who want to redistribute money don't want to redistribute the grades they earned... Of course, they didn't want to give away any of their "excessive" GPA....  Maybe some might actually think about it.

>- if you believe this then you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the minds of actual capitalists.

>- the rule is "you charge what the market will bare" WILL BARE!!!

>- NOT some philosophically sound, or mathematically appropriate number but whatever you can get away with.

>example:

>- you have a purse that costs you 20 dollars to make

>- you sell it for 2,000 dollars.

>- when the market goes bad and people have less money you should, if the rules apply, sell it for less; let's say 1,000 dollars.

>- some, however, game the system, which is the catch-phrase lately, and instead of selling the purse for 1,000 sells it for 5,000 dollars.

>- they sell half as many but they make 50% more money ... THIS is the state of our economy now; people gaming the system all over and catering to the very few that have so very much.

>- Game Theory btw was invented by a crazy man, played by another crazy man in a movie.

>- taking advantage is at the very heart of capitalism.

>- you ayn-randians should know this.

>
Supply & Demand - it's a very simple principle.  Just because a person charges more for something doesn't mean that they're stealing from the customer.

Wow - the rich do "nothing" to earn their money?  So, taking their savings and building a business from scratch and investing and working 18 hour days is doing "nothing?"....

- YES!!! they literally do NOTHING!

- the vast majority of them are born that way and literally do nothing to risk their own wealth.

- donald trump is a perfect example

- trump failed many times and cost thousands of people millions of dollars; he was only comfortable taking those risks because his father left him a ton of money that continues to grow on its own and trump was never risking his life style.

- REAL risk is starting a business when you have nothing, the vast majority of something in the Nation is held by the very few who literally did nothing to earn it ... and still don't.

- because of compound interest, their wealth grows faster than they can even address it (you have to be a moron to lose a billion dollars, and some are.)

Not true and Rusty knows it.  Take a look at the majority of the richest people - they created their own empires thanks to capitalism.

Did a few people inherit money?  Yep, but they need to work to keep it or make it grow.  Anyway, if they choose not to work, that's their choice - as long as they're not expecting handouts from the government.

And notice how Rusty only talks about the extreme of the exteme? How about the vast majority of businesses? Still - Trump is the boss and people choose to work for him. There's risk everywhere. Only socialists incorrectly think that the government can protect us from the risks in life.
