Is it really appropriate to celebrate the anniversary of an event before it happens? Say you get pulled back in time to Charles Town in the 1600s, are you going to celebrate the 4th of July?

I don't celebrate the 4th July now, so that's a "nope" from this end.


But as far as celebrating an event before it happens, any excuse for a party (or even a night watching Star Trek) right?
