Thought I'd throw this question out for discussion, since I hadn't seen anything on it yet.
So with the alternate timeline established in the Star Trek reboot, everyone's lives have changed.
Supposing that this timeline doesn't affect any of the TNG crew drastically in any way (meaning, they all end up on Enterprise like in the tv show), do you think that eventually there would be movies made centering around a new TNG cast for movies?
I'm kinda on the fence about it. Granted, I was for the 2009 reboot too, and that turned out fine.
What do you think?

I think there is more of a chance of my winning the Megabucks than of our seeing a TNG reboot.
It's not impossible...but HIGHLY unlikely.

you can't unbreak an egg. i say let some really creative people in the room now and see where they can take things. THEN GO THERE. don't just cut and paste stuff from previous successes into some kind of movie-collage because you already did that. do some original work now and take that risk. THAT is where no man (or woman) has gone before in the Star Trek of today - - the Idea Well.

I think there will be a TNG reboot of some kind...some day in the distant future. Right now TPTB are riding high on the TOS movie cast reboot.
The reason I think there will be a reboot, is that now that the reboot option has been activated, I don't think the studio will be able to resist. Given enough time, the reboot option will be placed on the table for TNG and someone will think "the time is right".

There will not be a TNG reboot but continuing in the timeline would be highly likely.

Well, I wouldn't consider TNG a spinoff. Certainly not like Fraisure or Joey. It was a continuance. If any of the shows was the "spinoff" it was DS9. But that is a subject for another thread.

I'm not falling for that guise TNG was a continuation...sorry, it's a spin off no matter how you slice the Data cake with yellowish tan frosting.

It would please me though if there's any new television series especialy if they would make according to the reboot an alternate timeline kinda TNG. Likewise ENT ended with Troy & Riker, but it's more relastic to say that an alternate TOS concluding not only movie isn't very likely to come. Even if it would make sense.
