so i've been rewatching the series,  and they say that the avions did not have the technolegy to get off the planet before it expoded, but in episode 22 of season 3 when the council is meeting they say that the place was built by the avions like 4000 years ago , so if they had space flight for over 4000 years how did they end up dying because they did not have space flight , they needed to travel outside of the solar system to build the place.

and just a random thought, why dint there allies help them get off the planet before it exploded(assuming they had allies, im assuming that the aquatics would have been)

ya , that would make sense , but 4000 years ago means they should have hundreds of colonies.

by they i mean startreck wiki , which i assumed was cannon, makes sense sinse there technolegy was about the same as earths and earth has had warp for about 100 years it is logical to assume that when they left they where just  barely technologicaly mature enof to survive.

this could be completeley rong.

I never read or saw anything about their extinction being related to losing their planet. I assumed they died of a virus or something internal.

so now we managed to rule out  them dying out when the planet exploded and all that jawn.

that does not explain how they managed to build that place 4000 years ago, there is no way they had space travel then , the only logical thing would be that the sphere builders or some other race , but probably the sphere builders  brought them there to build the place so they could hold meeting there in the future.

another wild asumption.

Simple fact: Successful species can die out and they can do so for a myriad of reasons. A change in climate, new competition, disease, a bad year, a drop in fertility, or perhaps they just didn't breed fast enough to begin with to keep up with the changes wrought by some gradual or sudden catastrophic event.

Bottom line: Who knows? But it is not an implausible development in their history.
