Big supermarkets are banning hormones in meat here. They refuse to sell freah meat that isn't guaranteed artificial hormone free.

Two of my stores are doing the same, but they're still caught up in advertising tricks. For example, the store advertises no High Fructose Corn Syrup. But some companies are changing it to "Corn Sugar" or "Glucose-Fructose Syrup". The latter is used in Canada to denote HFCS. My store does take it off the shelf though when pointed out. The major corporations are relentless. Consumers have to read the ingrediants in their foods. I put it back if it's longer than five ingredients or reads like a novel. But there's also a problem with conventional food labeling. The manufacturers can simply list "tomato", in reference to another companies' tomato base (which serves as the principal's ingrediant) and contains HFCS, MSG, etc... "Organic" labeling does not permit this, however. But there are different classifications of Organic. 100% Organic has to be entirely organic, no pesticides, insecticides, GE, etc... Organic means 95%, and Made With Organic Ingrediants means 70% organic components.
