But no, it should go back to the original timeline. Abrams messed up, big time.

I thought the alternate timeline was brilliant, it was the best movie by the amount of people who went to see it, it had a great acting crew i think abrams did a brilliant job! Id kinda given up star trek was getting anywhere untill that movie!

ANYTHING but Abram's time please!!!

SHOULD VOYAGER BE LET IN TO THIS ALTERNATE UNIVERSE? THAT IS THE QUESTION.

YES IT SHOULD AND FOR GOOD REASON TO, I'VE READ STAR TREK FULL CIRCLE AND THE NEXT GENERATIONS VERSION BEFORE DISHONOR AND YES JANE WAY IS A Q.

I THINK THE CHARACTERS SUCH AS JANEWAY AND ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS OF THE NEXT GEN ERA INCLUDING ALL THE KEY VULCAN CHARACTER THAT WE KNOW AND LOVE, ARE IN FACT VERY MUCH ALIVE AND AGAIN READY TO BE EXPLORED AND SHOWN TO A NEW AUDIENCE.

FOR EXAMPLE :   PICTURE TUVOK LETS SAY THIS HIS PARENTS WERE EITHER RESCUED FROM VULCAN OR THEY WERE OFF PLANET SOME WHERE, TUVOK COULD HAVE BEEN VERY MUCH ALIVE AT THE TIME OF YOUNG KIRK,  BUT TUVOK COULD HAVE BEEN JUST A SMALL CHILD, AND ANY ONE ELSE YOU OR I COULD THINK OF THAT IS OUR FAVORITE CAN OR WILL BE STILL ALIVE BUT BE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON.

WHO KNOW S BELANNA AND TOM PARIS CAN STILL GET TOGETHER BUT UNDER A WHOLE NEW STRING OF CIRCUMSTANCE , MAYBE KLINGON FEDERATION RELATIONS DON'T COME TO PEACE IN KIRKS TIME AND THE KLINGONS PLUNG THEMSELVES DEEPER IN OVERMINING DEBT AND IT TAKES TO THE 24TH CENTURY UNDER CAPTAIN JANEWAY WHO DISCOVERS A KLINGON PLOT IN THE DELTA QUADRANT TO OBTAIN THE CARE TAKERS POWER AND WITH THE COOPERATION OF CHAKOTAY AND HIS MAQUIS SHIP , AND TOM PARIS NAVIGATING THEY SET A COARSE FOR THE DELTA QUADRANT, BUT THIS NEW UNIVERSE LENDS ITSELF IN PROVIDING BETER TECHNOLOGY AND SPEED FOR THE USS VOYAGER SO  THE TRIP WILL ONLY TAKE 20 YEARS OR LESS AND BY THE TIME THEY MAKE IT BACK FORGE NEW ALLIANCES AND BRING PEACE TO OVER 60 YEARS OF KLINGON FEDERATION HOSTILITY. (PLUS TOM AND BELLANNA STILL GET TOGETHER.

That seems like quite a stretch... As much as I'd hate to think all the characters in TNG, DS9, and Voyager were killed off or radically changed, I just don't see how it would be possible to merge both timelines like that.

Honestly, I liked the 09 ST movie and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that alternate universe in movie form, but if they were to do any more ST TV series I would like it to be on the origional timeline. Keep things the way they were.

I  loved the 09 movie, but, what a mess the alternate universe would make of any past series. Leaving that alone,  a totally new series could include the new alternate universe. Ofcourse this belongs to the general discussion.
