Design NX Class Ship Patches Sweepstakes

I have a suggestion for another sweepstakes, but one that requires a little more creative effort from fans.  In the Enterprise Romulan War books, the next ships in the NX line are:

NX-03 Challenger

NX-04 Discovery

NX-05 Atlantis and

NX-06 Endeavor

In honor of the conclusion of the space program (in which OV-101 was named Enterprise) and to generate interest in "Beneath the Raptor's Wings" being reprinted in March and "To Brave the Storm" being released this fall.  Why not have a sweepstakes to design ship patches for the next 4 NX ships to go along with the patches for Enterprise and Columbia?

Enterprise patch

Columbia patch

The STO "Design the 1701-F" contest generated a lot of fan interest.  NASA also had a contest to design a patch symbolizing the entire space shuttle program that generated much enthusiasm from shuttle workers (see result).

Would anyone else like to see/participate in such a contest?  The site could then sell the winning patches.  How about it startrek.com?

Awesome. Now we're talking! Any significance to the number of stars?

The stars are apart of the Crux or Southern Cross constellation.  It's found on the Australian flag, the continent island of which was discovered by Captain James Cook, commander of the H.M.S. Endeavor.

The motto is latin for "the unknown land of the south," which turned out to be Australia.

The quote is one of the most famous quotes from Captain Cook, and was apparently the inspiration for "To boldly go where no man has gone before."

The motto is "Through hardships to the stars."

The star cluster is the Pleiades constellation, or the "Seven Sisters."  They represent the original crew lost on the Shuttle Challenger

The quote is from Martin Luther King.

The quote is a nice touch for Challenger especially.  I agree with having stars for the crew same as is on the Columbia patch.

Discovery I feel should have a ship on the patch.  There have been a few great Discovery sailing vessels and a ship was featured on Discovery's first mission patch.

If only we could get the franchise and fans behind this.

HA! Ha! ha! YES!!! You got it in one, MR!
And you'll notice that with the patch, I almost
didn't want to even show it. It was very secondary
to my REAL purpose and intent: To get the old gang
to respond to my promoting it with this Flawless Gem ...

It doesn't work quite as well when you announce it, though.
Forgive me for trying to inject some SPICE into the mix, sir.

What are you talking about Frakes?  I didn't announce anything.  BTW, got to see the REAL Frakes yesterday.  Got to say, there are many similarities.

Wow! You met Jonathan Frakes?!
How cool is that?! Congrats, man!
"Similarities" of what sort, sir?
I'm afraid you've lost, there ...

Wait ... Let me get this straight:

Marina Siritis flashed YOU ... her LEGS?! And
- OK? - AND on Jonathan Frakes' INSISTANCE?!!!

This story of yours, to put it mildly, strains
ALL credibility! Do you know how many famous
wymin have flashed me their legs - with and/or
with OUT the urging of one of their male celebrity
friends? A grand total of NONE! That's right ...
a GOOSE EGG!!! I'm trying to be enthusiastic about
this fantastic tale, but ... no. You ask too much of me.

Here's my take on Discovery.  The motto is "Seek the truth," the quote is from Andre Gide.  The names are members of the shakedown crew.  The only two I know for sure is Curtis and Clow, which are from books.  The rest I took from the historical surnames of various crewman of the HMS Discovery.
