Andorians in Enterprise

I was always been dissapointed that they were so underused after the Original Series. Other than the occasional appearance in the films, and two very minor "cameos" in TNG ("Captain's Holiday", "The Offspring") they were only ever even mentioned in passing. Odd treatement of a supposed founding member of the Federation.

So, of course I was very excited when they started showing up as regulars on Enterprise! It certainly didn't hurt that makeup techniques had improved since TOS, or that actors like Jeffrey Combs took them to a whole new level.

Love the Andorians!

loved the andorians, shran was tough but you had sympathy for him to. I liked the xindi, but I did not care for the council. I didn't mind having 5 different species, but would have preferred them to being similar beings and not totally different types.

This was the first series I had done any online research. I would have expected any series to have a blanket start to finish program with several main ideas on the table to lead it. The information I found was that they didn't have a set plan. I would have hoped that with the remaining 3 years they would have developed more of Hoshi, Travis, and Reed. they were all underused. I would also hope that in those 3 years they would have picked up on some of the above ideas.

I had never seen the last episode in Season 3, were the Xindi Weapon was destroyed, and I was happy and surprised to see Shran come in at the last second and save the day. Very awsome.

I'm partial to Reginald Barclay over Garak, but I'll go with Shran all the way. Jeffrey Combs is brilliant. I wish ENT had a fifth season just so Shran could've been a member of the cast.

It's hard to beat Garak as far as recurring characters go, and I do like Weyoun a little better than Shran. But Andorians are fantastic (of course) and so is Jeffrey Combs in every role he has on Trek.

Got to love the fully functional antennae. From "The Andorian Incident" teaser, I knew the episode could do no wrong.

Andorians the coolest faction on Enterprise (Comm Shran, moving antennas, whatnot). I would love see them (at least a new crew member) in JJ Abrams next Star Trek feature film.

To be honest, in TOS I was not an Andorian fan. When the were resurrected in Enterprise, I found them a breath of fresh air and I loved them!

I really liked them.  Jeffrey Combs really brought some depth to Shran.  "Tell Archer that's 2 he owes me!"  Having seen them a little in TOS, and then pretty much ignored for decades, I was really glad to see them get some attention in Enterprise.  As I mentioned in a different thread, I find it rather ironic that it took a prequel predating the formation of the UFP to actually develop some UFP races.

Yup. The Xindi sure missed out on a golden opportunity when they failed to collect their Archerite!

I loved the Andorians on Enterprise. (No surprises there.) Got so happy every time I saw Shran watching episodes the first time -- and every time he came on screen I would say aloud, "SHRAN!!" and seeing him on the screen would cheer me up, because he's awesome.

Fell in love with Andorian characters reading DS9 Relaunch books, and so it was great to see them in Enterprise. Journey to Babel is one of the episodes I really want to watch of TOS.
