I loved the amount of screen time the Andorians got on Enterprise. I didn't really see them much on the other series' and really loved their tension with the Vulcans. More Romulan action would have been fantastic...

Anyway, I thought the Andorians really added to the greatness of Enterprise. Really sucks that they only had 4 seasons because it was a really great series. Not a fan of Archer though, they should have went with a no-name.

One of the things that excited me about Enterprise, was the thought of seeing Andorians in ST again, and my excitement shot through the roof when I heard Jeffrey Combs would be the face of Andoria. And then the show started and there were Klingons, a lot of Klingons, way too many Klingons. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Klingons and have been since my first viewings of Star Trek as a kid in the 70's, but they really don't fit in a show about the Birth of the Federation in my opinion. And then they have an episode where Klingons are afraid to fight Archer because they might die. And then Vulcans started lying to Humans and Andorians about their spy station hidden in a monastery. And then the Ferengi show up for no good reason. All of this after being exposed to a Temporal Cold War. Suffice it to say I really hated all of these things and I would just be tuning in to watch Ent if I knew the Andorians would be appearing.

I agree coastcityo. Too many klingons. Not enough Romulans, and making Vulcans double minded was kind of wierd (after being used to their honesty).

I don't even remember the Ferengi showing up. Xindi people didn't like, but I didn't mind. I was more annoyed that I had never heard of them before in any other series.

All that aside, I thought Archer just wasn't a good choice for captain after seeing him in other tv shows. He's not intimidating either. Being the first star ship though, I guess he was a good choice... just lacks the charisma and umph that Picard, Kirk and Sisko had.

I liked Andorians before the show cause I thought they looked cool but enterprise made them my favorite trek race. Jeffery Combs is to Andorians what Mark Leonard is for Vulcans.

Agreed, Andorians on ENT among the highlights. I think this is because we saw them in TOS, maybe read/heard referrences they were co-founders of the UFP, but knew little else. Credit due to series creators and writers for exploring the Andorian-Human-Vulcan relationships and making them interesting, also to Combs' performance.

Contrast that to the ENT appearences of Klingons, Ferengi, and Borg...boring, useless episodes IMHO, that added to feelings of "franchise fatique" no doubt.

I also liked the episode with the Tellarite bounty hunter, interesting to show more of them, and good Cap. Archer episode, too.

A vote for Andorians and Tellarites being good, and more probably would have been better. I just don't understand why they wouldn't want to focus on these types of stories as this could have been their domain. They could have written the origins of the Federation, and they even would have had the chance to tell the story of the Romulan Earth War. It would have been completely new terrain for them to romp in, but instead we got Borg and Klingon and Ferengi. Heck, I personally would have liked more Tellarite and Andorian and Orion, and less Vulcan just to give us something very new.

I can't say I particuly liked the andorians, I find them a little annoying. But they did amuse me when they kept refering to humans as pink skins!

They are by far my favorite.  I laughed my ass off at the one where the Andorian couldn't sleep until he repaid his debt to Archer.  "Cease Fire" was just as good, even better.  That Andorian is the coolest alien since Q

Romulans could not be really exploited because they needed to keep them misterious and hidden from humas for the whole series. preparing for when Kirk first see a Romulan.

It was good to see them fleshed out in ENT. They were never really given much chance in TOS. But then, I guess they were seen as very incidental in the original series. It was often up to later versions to go back and redevelop these ideas.

As I've stated fairly often, their my favorite species in Trek. Even above humans.

I was rather upset JJ had none in his movie. They are one of the founders of the Federation after all. There's really no excuse for having so many alien of the scene random costumes and none of the stablished species in Trek lore, save a lonely Orion girl.

I disagree completely. With Section 31 on the loose to cover up evidence to protect an uneasy truce between the Vulcans & Andorians, the Romulans could have been seen. Who knows what other else could be skirted canon wise b/c of S31? Revistionist history.
