>epic fail how does star trek phase 2 need its own thread the show never made it onto television? star trek the animated series is a complete afterthought i agree but it does not need its on thread but since it has its own thread i agree it should be next to the original series and enterprise next to them in the order of the years the show take place in.

I think Phase II deserves a thread because it very nearly happened. If it had done then perhaps there would have been NO TNG / DS9 / VOY / ENT ??? There is plenty of subject matter about how far they got with it, to discuss it further. Besides which, I'd rather talk about it than VOY or DS9 ...
My opinion yes, which might be an extremely singular one, but the whole ST-P2 story is very interesting and holds considerable appeal to a diehard TOS Trekker like me!
BTW - my 13 year old son says 'epic fail' all the bloody time!

TAS is a fantastic series that was viewed as a bridge to the Motion Picture. It was viewed very seriously by its producers and writers, and has impacted TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT. It is worth discussing and viewing.

The TAS board should be a sub-forum for the TOS board.
Besides that, though, yes, there should be a TAS board.

Hey all,
I do see both sides of the discussion here. I too think of TAS as season 4 of TOS, but I agree at the same time that it's a separate entity.
I say yes, it does deserve its own board.
Take care,

It's nice to finally have a TAS board.
"Truly, these times of ignorance GOD overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because HE has appointed a day on which HE will judge the world in righteousness by the MAN (LORD JESUS CHRIST) whom HE has ordained. HE has given assurance of this to all by raising HIM from the dead." [Acts 17:30-31]

Well if I really was an Admiral here at Star Trek.com I would take all of the show threads I posted and make them sticky so they could not get lost. Then leave it be, as to new threads
In the other boards there can be 15 threads on one topic or episode.
Since there are only x# of episodes I posted each and the description from the DVD insert.
The eventual "would so and so marry that Alien ? " threads are welcome but below the episodes.
If the other boards had started with a frame of seasons or episodes the board would be really easy to navigate and easier find answers to questions .

I remember watchin the animatd series in fist run. Getting a chance to o rewatch them again has been fun.
I am truely impressed with it's stories and ideas that would later be aded to many of the spin off series and proclaimed as original for those shows.
Face the facts people, TOS and even TAS covered everythin and did everything well before the othe rshows.
A great slap in the face to the bogus TNG is in order.

Is a TAS board really necessary?....Yes
Am I posting on it yet?......No, but I will someday.
I own the DVD set, though.

It would be good if we all were to spend some time breaking down the eps.

I think that TAS should be included with the other series. as for Star trek : phase II it has its own web site
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one

I feel TAS is just as imperative to the Trek world as any other. TAS helped explain better some things that TOS left hanging.
I am neither important enough to hold for ransom, nor radical enough to be considered dangerous. I am a simple public servant.

I watched as much as I could bear. You know sweet diddly squat about my knowledge of Star Trek as your continued rantings demonstrate. I was watching Star Trek before you even knew how to say the words. These later spin-off are quite simply that ... spin-offs
