Do we really need a separate board for TAS? It is essentially just another part of TOS, and it is not like it is discussed so much as to merit its own board.

So, any opinions?

I don't think so, I've never really watched it though so I really don't care whether or not there is one.

Yes it does. It might be a continuation of TOS but it is different in sufficient ways (not least the medium) to give it its own life. I would be all for giving the great lost series that never was Star Trek : Phase II its own thread too! I'd also like to see this TAS section nudged up in between TOS and TNG where it should be chronologically, rather down at the bottom as an afterthought (which admittedly it is).

I'd also like to see the various shows listed in order of importance and chronology which would look like this:

Star Trek : The Original Series

Star Trek : The Animated Series

Star Trek : Phase II

Star Trek : The Next Generation

Star Trek : Deep Space Nine

Star Trek : Voyager

Star Trek : Enterprise

Star Trek : At The Movies

Star Trek : General Discussions

Regarding ST : TAS zone - you don't have to use it or contribute...

Right now TOS is the animated series.

Who knows there may eventually be more.

It was a series so why not have a place to talk about it ?

No, if the eps werent on the site, this wouldn't exisit. Its great they decided to give TAS the recognition it deserves, but as a series theres nothing much but the actual eps to talk about.

Nothing is really necessary. I could even condense these boards down, much further, if asked what was "necessary" to them. The simple fact that it's the only attempt at animation, places it in its own category. And for that, it should get the same exposure as the other series.

True, I'd heard about it, but I never really knew what it was. Once I saw this board and that people actually liked it, I started watching the episodes on this site. Quite helpful, actually.
