I realized while going through my book shelf that David Mack wrote the "starfleet survival guide" so apparently the novel writers also will write the reference works. I wonder if any of the writers or simon and schuster could be convinced to commission some of these.

Though I am not a Michael Martin fan, he would be my top choice for an Enterprise tech manual since he is very well versed in the show and has a very imaginative technical mind.

>What about getting a Star Trek Enterprise Companion and a Star Trek The Original Series Companion?

>Anyone know why we don't one? There's one for the other 3 series, and I own all 3 and I love them! I especially love how the TNG companion also goes into the four films as well. I keep holding out hope there will be a companion for TOS and ENT eventually, but I still never see any

Hey all,

I personally think The Star Trek Compendium is a great book. It covers TOS, TAS plus all 6 movies. Granted it's not as much detail as the later 24th Century ones, but worth getting.

Take care,

Thank you for the suggestion. It seems that the chaos of CBS's purchase of Paramount and their intellectual property has led to the dearth of new materials. It is also new time for books and book publishing with the advent of e-readers. People are now focusing on price rather than quality.

I'd pay good money for a good reference book. E-readers shouldn't affect their sales since the 2 aren't compatible.
