I'm new too, and I like to talk about myself so I'll participate.

1. Miles O'Brien

2. "Explorers" (DS9)

3. I don't care much for vehicles (I know, ironic, since my favorite character is a chief engineer and my favorite episode is about a vehicle.)

>so many, I can't even write them here. let's say Far beyond the stars, DS9

Definitely a strong contender for me as well.  But as you say, there are so many possible answers.

>I'm pleasantly surprised you mentioned Re-Animator, (My favorite movie of all time, and Jeff at his best) not many here are familiar with him outside of Trek. --- Have you seen the two Re-Animator sequels?  From Beyond?  The Frighteners?

>-hey man i am totally with you on everything so far.

>- i am all the way with you on The Frightners as well, he was great in that movie (that movie was real good besides, was really surprised).

>- i have seen all the Re-Animators, but not From Beyond; thanks for the tip.

>- he is great! you would think he could have saved ENT like he did DS9, but you can't win them all.

>- good to know we are brothers in Combs.

I was totally with you on everything up until the part where you said that The Frighteners was a good movie.   It wasn't terrible, but I can't say it did much for me. (Aside from Jeff's role, of course.)  I also always enjoy seeing MJF.

From Beyond is directed by the same director of Re-Animator.  It was made a year after it.  Also Barbara Crampton, Bunny Summers and Carolyn Purdy-Gordon from RA are in it.  It's an H.P. Lovecraft story, too.  I think you'll like it.

So what did you think of Bride of RA and Beyond RA?
