Ok,I will go ahead and say shields....my god, shields.Seems like they are always down,or at least taking a huge beating.Perhaps transporter efficency??Or how about a most serious power packed weapon of some kind??Quantum torpedos are sweet and all, but? ? ?What do you guys think??

You forget that when Voyager returned home they brought that armor that they got from Admiral Janeway which was so strong it could withstand Borg weapons. so that is done, next.

Perhaps transporter efficency??

Well they could always get better, but they hardly had any problems with the Transporters in TNG and Voyager, and the ones that they did have on DS9 was mostly because the Transporters that they had were Cardasian POS.

Or how about a most serious power packed weapon of some kind

Again, thanks to the Admiral, Voyger brought Transphasic torpedos with them when they returned from the Delta Quadrant. And those things could take out a borg cube. it only took a couple of those things to destroy a borg cube.

What do you guys think??

I think that with any tech there is always room for improvement, and that is something that will never change.

They need the Death Star superblaster ray, Wave-Motion cannons, Mega-Armor with triple-shields, nuclear time-traveling atomic torpedoes, weapons that fire supermassive black holes at people, and catapults that launch diseased meat.

Then, not even the Cylons could stop them, and they could have AWESOME space battles featuring the Definat and the Voyger against the Borg, Species 8472, Breen, and the Tholians! It would be the best Star Trek adventure EVAR!!!!

They badly need basic security, basic engineering safe guards (ie multible failsafes for the warp core), and systems not so interrelated that a radom hit will disable major systems

It worked in the same way as sheilds. the only difference between it and regular shields is that it was not a circle of energy that surounded the ship.

This is like a combination between shields and transporters~~~

They need to figure out a way to beam people through their shields. But other people can't beam stuff through. Does that make sense???

upgrades... i know how about carrying bullet weapons just incase there are cybernetic beings that adapt to particle weapons.

the problem with that tribblenator is that there is no conclusive evidence that the borg cannot adapt to projectile weapons (the tommygun scene is not conclusive as it has been proven that it takes anywhere from 1-12 drones being shot or attacked for the borg to adapt to a weapon), just as there is no conclusive evidence that they can adapt to them.

Oh GOD, here we go....Borg vs Kinetic weapons. It always ends the same way; in a pile of Drones slashed by an 8472 pilot. The number of drones in that pile represents the number of opportunities the Borg could have adapted to a non-energy based weapon. And they never did.

On topic, I'd upgrade with more durable armor and we know they have ablative armor from the future. Transphasics are another bonus courtesy of Admiral Janeway, to HELL with the Temporal prime directive.

The new away party will be holograms; they started with holographic interfaces with Deep Space nine. Combine that with Mobile emitters and you will lower casualty rates dramatically. Make it used sparingly and with limitations. If they don't have mobile devices, then they are on a subspace technobabble wavelength and they are being projected from orbit.

Well it was not my intention to start this one all over again (even though it was tribblenator that started it with his comment) i was just trying to point out that there is no conclusive evidence either way on this subject. but since the die has been cast....

It always ends the same way; in a pile of Drones slashed by an 8472 pilot.

Never heard this arguement on the subject before. but i will say, and excuse me if this has been said before, that 8472 used melee style attacks, not energy based attacks in fighting hand to hand with the borg (or if they did use energy based attacks it was not seen), which the borg appear to be more suseptable to. Though i will point out that even this is in debate as in Unimatrix Zero we see a borg adapt to the fighting style of a klingon that it was fighting after two of its companions were taken out by that same klingon.

The number of drones in that pile represents the number of opportunities the Borg could have adapted to a non-energy based weapon.

Again those appeared to be from melee fighting and not energy based fighting. besides there is one major flaw to this arguement, even though bullets are projectile weapons, they are still a type of energy weapon, as it requires energy to launch it out of the weapon.

regardless of whether you agree with me or not, we should probably move this one to another battle ground (or thread) so as to not take away from the Topic at hand.

I think that the Borg would have difficulty adapting to sharks with laser beams attached to their foreheads. And, if they adapt to THAT (which I find UNLIKELY), then you could always sick your ill-tempered sea bass on them.
