Y'know, I think my biggest problem with the season is how it ended, with them pulled into a parallel past. They needed to skip the alien nazis and go straight to the next episode where they come home to a hero's welcome. That season cliffhanger really annoyed me. They missed a valuable opportunity.

Ent comes home a hero escorted by Andorian and Vulcan ships who helped defeat the weapon and save earth. Trust and alliances are formed. Instead, alien nazis and vulcans angry archer destroyed a ship of zombies.

I you stick a dog's face in his poo pile, he learns. Do the same to Berman and he keeps pooping on a good thing.

I personally thought it was the best season.  The fact that they were able to incorperate all the classic aspects of Trek into one plot line I think was a really good decision.  Plus it really showed the ass-kicking side of Archer.

What classic aspects of Trek do you speak of?  If anything, I thought season 4 was more classic Trek.  Archer got too dark and hardened in season 3.  In season 4, he was able to better balance soldier, explorer, and diplomat.  However, season 3 did give him the reality of the harshness of astro-politics so he was more seasoned and mature for what he faced in 4.

I agree.  Stukas with laser beams were pretty cool to an aviation enthusest like me.

Can you imagine, though, if at the end of "best of both worlds" the D was pulled back in time to WWII?

Chuckle. Again the Temporal Cold War arc was very poorly handled.

The new novel on the Department of Temporal Investigations does a nice job of ironing out the Temporal Cold War.

Yes. And it actually reveals who the "Sponsor" is.

The mystery future guy who is always shrouded in darkness.
