Star Trek

I think it time for a new series, but the problem is what would be based upon? We've had exploration, a space station and a lost ship.

How about a series based on the Mirrorvers, I enjoyed the story where Kirk & Co went to an alternative reality where they were dictators and invaders. It also worked well in DS9.

I think they could take the time travel concept quite a distance, with this they could be based in the future, and could use Federation timeship Aeon or Relativity.  

This would mean they could go back to original areas of the startrek chronology as well as the present.

This would put science fiction back into the new and exciting realm, where new capabilities, engines alongwith new enemies to fight.  

I always liked species 8472, this was something where the aliens were a bit different.

Also with time travel comes the possibility of different realities, so i see this as building on ideas from previous episodes, and they always seemed to go down well.

I think an interesting series would be to bridge the gap between Enterprise and the Original series.

While i don't know much about Trek history everybody talks about the Romulan Earth war or w/e, seems like an action packed series could take place sort of like DS9 with the Dominion war.

Other possibilities:

31st century and temporal cold war, we don't learn much about it after season 2 i believe.

Post Voyager: New information about the Delta Quadrant, Borg took a major blow to their warp conduits.

Perhaps a series about the federation exploring the Gamma Quadrant more, now that the dominon is gone there is more stability in that region and the Federation can now explore it.

I personally would like to see the gap between Enterprise and TOS and see how StarFleet evolves, how the federation began to take shape.

There's a lot there for a series between Enterprise and TOS. Romulan Earth War, the expansion of the federation and starfleet. Perhaps throw in some Andorian/Vulcan incidences or we can learn more about the Vulcans after the high command was taken apart.

I think the Dominion's territorial integrity in the Gamma Quadrant remained intact.  They were kicked out of the Alpha Quadrant, yeah, but I don't remember hearing anything about them losing ground in the Gamma Quadrant.

They tried a time travel based series--Enterprise.  It didn't work so well.  I think time travel works better as an occasional episode than as a basis for a series.

time to explore other galaxies and meet other races.

I have to say that I liked the way Voyager progressed. If a new show were to take place in the reset TOS era on a different ship, thereby reserving the Enterprise and her crew for the movies, it should progress like Voyager in that there is a single and simple overall goal that is not easily achieved. The ship and crew work twords that goal, but there is enough room for random episodes that develop a character, or introduce something or someone new. Episodes that are just for fun, like the Tribbles episodes in TOS and DS9 are also possible.

It should not follow the example in ENT where the overall goal is to complex and actually requires more than one season to complete. Voyagers goal of getting home could be accomplished at any time by a wormhole being written in for the ship to fly though. Not so with ENT.

They need a galactic badguy and his evil minions to be the Star Trek Colonies' adversary...introduce a united struggle type situation...where the Federation becomes a more crutial presence to different colonies scattered all over the heavens...I dunno I think it would give writers some pretty good freedom (all the different characters...pick a colony on a different planet...each colony has its stars)...anyway that's what I'd watch lol

DS9 needs a movie for sure. The last episode needed somthing else with the dominion for the movie, a group of rouge Jem'Hadar are on the run with a founder and its Siskos job to kill them.

The new Star Trek series needs to be NEW with a new concept and design, not a retread. CBS will have to do a better job of drumming up interest, and not just milking the current fanbase. 

Yes, there should be a DS9, Voyager or Enterprise movie. And a new series calls for a new period, anytime from 2063 to 3063!

While it major mission deassimalted  Borg drone form Borg ships that either crash and on planets or disable some space stormed.  Second explore Delta Quadroon across show go mission change new alien races add.  This starship equipment most advance engine design much more advances transwarp. Also something starfleet command limit number of. Across this fact if they have send distress calls waiting weeks for help.

eek, please no tv movies. it'd wind up like stargate or something
