To avoid an encounter with three Romulan ships the 1701 hides in a gasous energy field.Unfortunatetly the field penetrates the ship's computer,causing it to play praticle jokes. The ensuing chaos proves to be amusing but dangerous

I love the holodeck. What a great idea it was. It was a shame that they didn't pursue it in TOS the way they did in the latter series.

I thought the same thing. Yet another TAS innovation.

Yea - they talked about it in the commentary on the last disk - creation of the holodeck which was used heavily starting with TNG. (Although I really doubt that they had it on the Enterprise B.) And since it wasn't mentioned in any of the movies....

Ya Star Trek is cool. This episode is great it is one of the 4 TAS episodes i watched.

Actually, "KIRK IS A JERK" is in the episode - it was a message on the back of Kirk's shirt.

Arex is given command in this one while Sulu stays at the helm. I thought Sulu out-ranked him. Pretty cool.

They have a holodeck in this one and the food synthesizers are shown to be pretty much exactly like TNG replicators.

The Romulan uniforms are a crazy red color. TAS has odd color choices.

I’m luke-warm on this episode. Neither bad, nor great but still interesting to watch. Enlightening that they had holodecks. Guess there was just no need to show them in the movies!

It would be awesome and funny if that's how Sybok created those shared illusions of his. He had them all walk into the ship's holodeck, cleverly disguised as the observation lounge!
