This is one of my favorites.
Fantastic episode with a awesome premise.
The Skorr are a race that I cannot believe has not been used in other Trek fiction. The concept of a group called together by an ancient starfaring race is another concept that worked its way into TNG with the Preserver story.
Good action, and a real quality villain. TAS at its best.

I had completely forgotten about "The Animated Series" and I was talking to a fellow fan and she said it was on the home page and this was the episode I remembered. It was odd that I would forget because I love cartoons in general and Star Trek. It should have stayed in the forefront of my memory

Kirk was chosen for his leadership and adaptability. There you go. Kirk is considered the best captain in the quadrant. I’m not buying how flatly Kirk keeps turning down the woman’s advances in this one. This is the 3rd episode with those stupid screeching purple pterodactyls. Hate those dumb creatures. Interesting that Spock refers to “the warrior races of the Federation.”
Another lame one to me. Shallow plot, predictable execution. Nothing really great about it. I don't know how ANY of you consider this one of the better ones. Giant cheese fest to me. Its lame as an episode of Scooby Doo.

Should I answer yes or no?
Hey, I type up my thoughts before reading these threads. I'm just as shocked as you at how much we disagree.

The only question now is who is the Khan to the other's Kirk.
I think this is a good episode in that it really tried to expand the federation with these races before it was really established as we undersatand it today. Other than that it's one of the middle episodes. Not overly rememberable or painfully bad.

I think it WAS painfully bad. When the party was transported to tha planet, why did they need to deal with lava flows, harsh cold, and mechanical angry birds? All of that filler was just silly drivel and contributed NOTHING to the story.

Dude, the point of this board is to discuss. Point and counterpoint. Just because we are expressing different views, doesn't mean we don't enjoy a product. Geez, careful about the name-calling, especially when you jump into a conversation you haven't been a part of.
