Okay, I´ll admit: this poll is meant to tease our friend 2takesFrakes and his frustration with our unwillingness to prefer his idol Will Riker over any man he has polled him against.

But what are we women if not the means of teasing the men? Team up as he continuously expects that we do (even though I personally have never noticed ), and let us decide among ourselves which of the (by females) most beloved ST characters has our preference!

im sure any rational human woman would go for kirk. I think data did try to get with human women and ended up driving them crazy with his android logic mind.

Kirk's going to get slaughtered in this one, but I voted for him any way.

tribblenator999, you just pi$$ed off about 37 female fans from the TNG boards who would probably prefer the show to be called "Data Trek."

HAHAHA! Yeah, I don’t know about the “Data Trek” thing that would be a bit extreme, but to say no rational woman would want Data, that’s going to far.

Commence Kirk slaughter!

@konarciq  I know, we never really “team up” as he so likes to point out every chance he gets, we just all happen to have to same, or similar opinions!

(if you didn’t already guess the obvious, I voted Data)

Data! He's smart, calm, rational, handsome, fully functional and anatomically correct. He loves art, plays the violin and acts. He doesn't have mood swings and he doesn't need to show he's better than other men. He just IS better.

Kirk is irrational, irresponsible and vomitly extraverted. He likes to fight, show how brave he is and get new women. Have you ever seen him reading a book or playing music?

I'm torn. I loved Kirk first, and he's precious to me. Data took over after a lull in Kirk fandom, but he eclipsed Kirk in some ways, in some ways not. Heck, if I had them both offering themselves as they were in their prime... Jeebus, what a decision.

i don't know that you gals liked data so much. I mean wouldn't it be like hooking up with a overgrown naive baby? I mean he would be at your total control. I thought gals found that man manipulation stuff boring. Now Kirk would be the one manipulating you. lol Kirk never read books or played violin cause he played 3D chess and climbs rocks for fun.

I don't see Data being that passive. He had his own agenda. It's silly to think he'd just take orders at anyone's whim. I don't believe he would. He has a free will of his own. He demonstrated the ability to be quite stubborn when he didn't want to be manipulated. You'd get nowhere fast. Try to force him, and he'd simply fall over and play dead. Same as many men we know.

Kirk is a bit of a lady's man, yes... but he seemed willing to settle down if the right woman came along... until the next woman came along, at least. Playing chess and reading books is about equally cerebral. Kirk climbs rocks, Data tosses them like poker chips. Either activity is sexy.

Data showed the disobedience when he was a captain on the other ship once and he fought the Romulans (Redemption II). And he even was jealous before and wanted to get his own ship. He just knew he's good!

Exactly. Data didn't take any nonsense from the First Officer who tried to usurp his authority when commanding a Starship. Data may be a gentle soul, but he's got more inner strength than you people give him credit for. He'd firm up his stance whenever needed... I wouldn't want to push him around.

Do you remember him in The Most Toys? He was pretty resistant there.

That was in the first season, he still had a lot to learn, and he had no reason to say no, it was also probably a good learning experience for him.

Yes, Data was wonderfully stubborn in "The Most Toys".

But he knew Tasha! Heck, they may have been making eyes at each other on the bridge for days before that.

"I think the guy at OPs has a crush on me."

"The nerve. Do you wish me to speak with him?"

"No, I think I can handle it."
