Today I'm watching a 'Next Generation' episode, 'A Matter of Honor'.

I'm intrigued by the character Ltn. Klang, played by the actor Brian Thompson. He's played a number of Klingons in various Trek series, and particularly in 3 episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise as Romulan Admiral Valdore. He also played a Klingon Helmsman in the movie Star Trek: Generations.

Thompson has also appeared in a wide variety of television shows, including seven seasons on the The X-Files as an alien bounty hunter, and the pilot episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as Kindred: The Embraced as Eddie Fiori, the leader of the Brujah clan, and Charmed as both War from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Titan Cronos. He appeared on the Fox Network cult science fiction TV series Alien Nation as a Newcomer named Peter Rabbitt, as well as in the 1988 film upon which is based, though playing a different character. Thompson has also appeared in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys as the warlord Goth, and in Birds of Prey as the Crawler in Episode 7 "Split", as well as in the series NCIS, Californication, and in the television movie Love's Christmas Journey on the Hallmark Channel.    Matter of Honor   tribute to Brian as the Bounty Hunter on X Files.   still shots from X Files episode Herrenvolk  Star Trek: Generations  Star Trek: Enterprise clips featuring Brian as Admiral Valdore

On todays TNG episode from the first season Peak Performance, we get the second look at Ferengis... the main character is Bractor, is played by Armin Shimerman... who of course played Quark on Deep Space 9. He's also played on Numb3rs, Warehouse 13, and even played the Pope on the movie 'For Christ's Sake' (2009).   TNG 'Peak Performance'   Armin talks about acting on Star Trek    'Quark' talks on Regis and Kathy Lee (1993)   Armin doing 'Richard III'   Armin doing 'Hamlet'

Okay, need to watch Sea Hunt on cable tv and see Nimoy (he guest starred 8 times).

The station called "This TV" has been carrying Sea Hunt, and next week they are playing two episodes that he is in;

Tuesday is "The Fuse" (5:30 AM in NY, check your local time zone.  Out west would be earlier).

Thursday is "The Invader" (same time)

If your cable company carries this station, and you feel like getting up early, have fun watching.

Nimoy is really young and skinny is these shows.  These two episodes are from 1960 (way before "you know what".

One of the best examples of Trek alums caught on film is from
the Blake Edwards movie 'Blind Date.'

First, is the high-profile dinner scene in the restaurant with Armin Shimerman as the French waiter and, as the Maitre D is none other than Brian George (aka Julian Bashir's father). And then, of course, there's John Larroquette as Nadia Gate's (Kim Basinger) crazed ex-boyfriend.

A couple more that made me flip were these:

In one of my favourites, 'I Love You To Death' (Kevin Kline, Tracey Ulman), John Billingsley (Dr. Phlox [ENT]) plays a jailhouse informant and, on a segment from 'Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction' called 'The Wall,' John plays a convict.

Today, I*m watching a Criminal Minds episode from Season 2 called *Sex, Birth, Death.*   One of the guest stars is Anton Yelchin (Chekov *Star Trek 2009* and *Into Darkness*.) Since the year 2000, he's been in a couple dozen TV and movie projects.

Yelchin was born on March 11, 1989, in Leningrad, Soviet Union (modern day Saint Petersburg, Russia).  His parents, Irina Korina and Viktor Yelchin, were pair figure skaters who were celebrities as stars of the Leningrad Ice Ballet for 15 years. Nationally, Yelchin's parents were the third-ranked pair team; they thus qualified for the 1972 Winter Olympics, but were not permitted to participate by the Soviet authorities (Yelchin has said the reason was unclear: "I don't exactly know what that was–because they were Jewish or because the KGB didn't want them to travel"). Yelchin's family moved to the United States in September 1989, receiving status as refugees from political oppression. As of 2007, Yelchin's mother works as a figure skating choreographer and his father as a figure skating coach.   Criminal Minds *Sex, Birth, Death*    ANTON YELCHIN (Chekov) TALKS ABOUT ABRAMS' STAR TREK     on Curb Your Enthusiasm   Chekoc saves Kirk and Sulu on Star Trek 2009

I am watching another episode of Criminal Minds - Birthright, and there are two of our Star Trek Alumni... Jennifer Hetrick (Vash - TNG Captains Vacation) and William Morgan Sheppard, who played a number of Trek roles.

Sheppard maybe is best known as Data*s *grampa* from the episode The Schizoid Man (1989). However, he did also play smaller roles, like in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country a Klingon Commander, Star Trek Voyager Bliss playing Qatai (1999), and a Vulcan science minister in the movie Star Trek:2009.    The Schizoid Man   Captain*s Vacation

This afternoon, I was relaxing to an episode of Criminal Minds... called 'Minimal Loss'. One of the guest stars is Connor Trinneer, who played Trip on Star Trek: Enterprise.

Like many Trek alumni, he began on the soap opera circuit, on One Life to Live (1996).

After the cancellation of Enterprise, Trinneer returned to guest-starring roles on such series as Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, 24 and a recurring role as the Wraith Michael in Stargate Atlantis.

He attended the GO3 Electronic & Entertainment Expo in Perth, Western Australia and appeared on Channel Seven Perth Telethon for 2009 along with fellow Stargate Atlantis co-star David Nykl.   Criminal Minds 'Minimal Loss'   mid 1990's UK commercial for Club Med that won a Cannes Commercial Festival Gold Medal  Stargate Atlantis  Trip featured on Star trek:Enterprise blooper reel    Trip making it with a Vulcan (T'pol)

I'm watching Chicago Fire tonight, and Ensign Ro Laren - Michelle Forbes was on... she has a recurring role there. I couldn't recognise her right away, but her voice is easy to pick up. Forbes first gained attention from her dual role in daytime soap opera Guiding Light, for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. She has also been nominated for multiple Screen Actors Guild and Saturn Awards during her career.

Although she has appeared in significant roles in movies such as Escape from L.A., Kalifornia and Swimming with Sharks, Forbes is known for her recurring appearances on genre and drama shows such as Ensign Ro Laren in Star Trek: The Next Generation and her regular role as Dr. Julianna Cox on Homicide: Life on the Street during the 1990s, while building her career with recurring roles throughout the 2000s in Battlestar Galactica, 24, In Treatment, Durham County, Prison Break and her series regular role as Maryann Forrester on True Blood.   The Killing,    Joining the cast of Chicago Fire  Ensign Ro and Guinan

Just a quick note today... I'm watching a Voyager episode 'Demon'... and saw that the director is none other than Anson Williams. Anson directed episodes of both Voyager and Deep Space Nine.

Most of us would remember Anson as Potsie on Happy Days.

Tonight, I'm watching one of my DVDs for Star Trek: Enterprise... (yeah, I like it... did you give it a fair chance...)

This episode is called 'Acquisition', where a Ferengi ship comes across the Enterprise after it's crew has been knocked out by something. One of the Ferengis is Ethan Phillips, who of course people know as Neelix on Voyager. But another note, one of the other Ferengis is played by Clint Howard, who of course played Blalok on the second TOS episode "The Corbomite Maneuver"... which although was the first episode done after the second pilot was made, was shown in about the fifth week when the series began. Clint Howard was also known for being on a show before this called Gentle Ben... about a boy and his pet bear.

Clint also had a small supporting role in his brother Ron Howard's movie 'Apollo 13' as a technician in mission control... and in Austin Powers when they parody the same èmission controlè centre.   preview for episode 'Acquisition'    Clint Howard talks about being in the episode  gentle giant (Clint Howard) 1967  Apollo 13  Austin Powers

Two guest appearances I've seen recently are with
James Cromwell.

The first is his apprearance on 'Maude' where he assumes the role of Maude's psychiatrist in the ep. 'The Obscene Phone Call.'

as Obidiah Payne in the 80s 'Twilight Zone' ep. 'A Message From Charity' which also starred a very young Robert Duncan McNeill.
