Are stories floating around in your head? Have you put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard)? Have you shared it with others? Would you like to see your story published or is it just for s***s and giggles?

I have a story in my head, and I'm going to write it down for my entertainment, not brave enough to share though.

Just wanted to see who else has the writing bug as inspired by ST.

Yes I have. but ST 2009 put a quantum torpedo right through it. So I guess it's for my own entertainment now. Sure wish I could share it though. C'est la vie.

I do, and have, since the nineties, when Voyager was airing, and the series became the major point of my fandom.(One can guess which character I focus upon quite a lot) I dabbled in it some beforehand, but not to the extent at that time, and since, though, I've let myself slack off. However, I've actually posted some material at another st site, under another handle, here and there in the past, and more recently. I understand the reluctance to do so, though. Primarily, as stated elsewhere here , I do so for my own entertainment, and self-satisfaction.

ST09 is an alternate timeline. Fans who love the original timeline (if you want to share with others) won't care.

Cool. My reluctance to share is mainly due to canon disciples and because I like to think outside the box while still holding a love for the original shows (I haven't read any authorized novels). I finally convinvced myself to write it for my pleasure since it's been rattling around for a minute.

I hope you and bobarino keep it up. Hell, you only live once and should make yourself happy along the way.

I can readily relate to canon issues, as I've certainly 'pretended some things didn't happen' in the course of creating, and not sweated the fact. And yes, you do only live once; writing is one of the things where, when I get into it, I can sit for hours and do so(I still use pen and paper, but I rediscovered my pc some last week)

I´ve been writing fanfiction for several years, and this past year featured my first fanfic ventures into ST. It´s fun, and publishing it on a site like fanfiction.net is a possibility to get some real feedback on your writing.
As for sticking to canon: personally, I try to stick to canon as much as I can, basically adding scenes or episodes or entire adventures to the existing ST history. But little deviations (of the type ´what if...?´) I consider perfectly legitimate. As seems is the case for most ffnet authors.
The level of seriousness of the authors however is varying enormously...

I've had ideas in the past but I'm a terrible writer. I belong to a Voyager fan fic website and once in a while I'd post my ideas hoping one of the fan fic authors there would run with it. Low and behold, someone would always post a link to a story that had already been written with a similar idea! So I guess I'm not that creative either!

I like everybody, even the people I don't like. They make things interesting. ;) Trying to get into the Nexus? Use this link: http://s13.zetaboards.com/NexusTrek/index/

I would love a new series set further in the future.

A long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away called junior high school, I wrote a story for English class that had the crew beaming down on The Planet of the Apes. This would be the TOS crew as there were no others at that time.

I've written a couple of K/S vignettes that I've posted to the KSArchive. My penname over there is T'Leynti.
