Quote: Matthias Russell @ Jan. 23 2011, 5:17 am | I think an author's word has the finishing authority here. I've read plenty of intense and even arousing scenes in trek books. I think Peter David gets the most . . . detailed. But as my wife always says, that's nothing, you should see what they do in romance novels. |
Haha...pretty much what your wife says, yeah. I know graphic sex scenes. Star Trek doesn't professionally publish them.

Has anyone seen this episode on You Tube? The production is quite impressive, and the 'gay' aspect is very small. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24bSzDJTgYE Star Trek-Blood and Fire (Pt-1of 11) Gay episode.

The point is you call some anonymous group perverts but as we said earlier in this thread, we can't find any example of when there was graphic gay sex in any of the books. So who are you calling perverts?
The thread seemed to conclude that the books haven't been graphic. Even the person who started this thread couldn't site what book(s) were graphically homosexual after which the matter was settled.
So what is it you did not know?
We had a noteworthy trek author contribute to this very thread. I hope the offensive name was not targeted at those authors who have done a great job keeping the stories alive. If you read the books, you will see they are just as clean as the shows and keep their spirit very much alive.

Sex scenes in books tend to be pretty boring anyway. Oh and was the OP deleted-- out of curiosity?

It appears that way. I remember that guy's opening comments and replies. They could get pretty offensive.

Seems wierd to me. Recent memory leads me to the Vanguard series, and I didn't find anything overly shocking there.
Perhaps if this thread was directed to the fan film 'Blood and Fire' then I'd see a better connection.
