What were your favourite pilots and finals of all the series?

PILOTS
1. ENT: "Broken Bow"
2. DS9: "Emissary"
3. TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before"
4. VOY: "Caretaker"
5. TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint"

FINALES
1. TNG: "All Good Things..."
2. DS9: "What You Leave Behind"
3. VOY: "Endgame"
4. TOS: "Turnabout Intruder"
5. ENT: "These Are The Voyages"

I have no avid hate toward any of these episodes... in fact I quite enjoyed them all. Even TATV, which most people on these forums disliked/hated/dispised. The episode I enjoyed the least was probably Encounter at Farpoint, I dunno why, I just didn't enjoy it that much. I thoroughlly enjoyed All Good Things.
My favourite series is DS9, however neither of their pilots/finales are in number 1.

Favorite Pilot - DS9 Emissary.

Favorite Finale: All Good things....

I personally think that All good things was one of the best Star Trek episodes of all time, and by far the best finale.

Favorite Pilot: "Emissary"
Favorite Finale: "What You Leave Behind"

I really feel that DS9 was a near perfect television show, and it ended as beautifully as it began.

I don't even think you can count "Turnabout Intruder" as a finale. It was just an episode that happened to be produced last.

Sisko (Ma man) will return. He told Kasidy "I'll be back. Maybe in a year or maybe yesterday..."
Oooooh! OMMFQ!!! When he said that I cracked up laughing HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No, but I reckon he comes back one day... because the Prophets still have more for him to do... aparently. So I wouldn't worry about losing Sisko (Ma man) forever.
I too was disappointed when Jadzia did not appear in the finale.

Pilots: Cage, Encounter At Farpoint, Emissary Finales: All Good Things, What We Leave Behind
Personally, I just can't put WWLB that high. I just can't forgive Sisko becoming a worm hole alien and leaving Jadzia out.
From what I understand, Jadzia was left out cause contractual issues and they couldn't work out an agreement with the actress. As for Sisko going wormhole alien, I think it was the natural progression for his character, the "price" he had to pay for getting the Prophets into the fight and blockading the Dominion.
That's what I understand about Jadzia as well, it's just horse crap. I was OK with the whole "prophet" thing until our Star Fleet Captain joined them. I don't think he needed to pay a price as it was to Bajor's benefit for the Federation to win.

The relaunch book Unity did a good job in bringing Sisko back as well as the parasites. However, and this angers me, in Typhon Paxt 3, the author has Sisko abandon his wife and daughter because he thinks staying with them will bring only pain.

I liked the TNG and Ds9 pilot/finales best because they tied into each other. Obviously we all hate the Ent finale with no explanation needed. Voy- yay, they got home. But it needed more than "we're home", roll credits. Plus, I would have liked them to get home more based upon their resourcefulness and endurance than by getting ridiculously powerful technology from alternate future Janeway.

I agree that Voyager's means of getting home was kind of a "deus ex machina".
Here is a sub topic - can anyone ever top "All good things" as a finale?

Sometimes I think Generations may have made a great finale because it added some finale to TNG and TOS with the death of Kirk and the D. With some refinement, I think Generations could have been as great as AGT.

Zaltar, I completely forgot about TAS! But it doesn't matter, because I put them both in last, newae... lolz.

(Heres somefin' to note: For any of you fans who haven't as of yet seen any of TAS, I reccommend them. If you keep an open mind they can be quite enjoyable, they are far shorter and seem like mere snippets compared to the other show, but if they had a more detailed script they could all be TOS episodes)... (WATCH THEM)

What "refinements" could have been added? That movie was awful. It needed a new plot, a new villian(s), a new almost everything. The only part of that movie that was awesome was Data discovering humor.
