Quote "Also, to speak such negative personal things about me in your first and only post on this site makes me think you are a dual account trying to bait me.  If so, sorry, not gonna fall for it."

Man you really must be a miserable fan if you get people doing that to you.  Actually this was my first time to the site, I looked up OGAM cause I just watched it the day before and thought it was great, and I thought your comments were so rude they just had to be contradicted.

And as to the other " However, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt up until that final comment but now sadly, seriously question your sanity!!"

You're welcome to your own opinion, but I thought the first motion picture was terribly boring. Tedious, without much character development, stitled interpersonal relationships , a  tepid romance, and a main plot that was flimsy at best ( a basic satalite that still uses ratio that became one of the biggest manmade masses known to the Star Trek universe, because some unknown superpowerful alien gave it sentience to help it learn and study, and yet it unexplainedly abandons that mission and instead is on a direct collision course to destroy earth?).

I liked OGAM better because it had all these stars and characters from so many series popping up unexpectedly and reinventing themselves, it was fast moving, interesting, unexpected, and I thought Walter Koenig gave a great performance.

Is it available on line? I googled but only came up with a place to get a free dvd if I buy something from that site and a few reviews.

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Cheers.

Yes, it is available online.  They have to make it available for free due to licensing laws.

People are free to think what they want.  I personally feel the professional actors did well considering the poor script they were given to work with.  I find the entire production to be as compelling as a piece of cardboard.  Feel free to disagree, but it is juvenille at best to join a board and immediately insult someone with your first post.  Unless a poster was involved in any of these productions, then they have no reason to feel offended by any of my comments.

As to it being fans living out their fantasies, this I agree with and is one of the problems.  Acting out your fandom with your beloved actors doesn't make for a compelling story.  And just because you can film your fandom, doesn't mean it is watchable.  Any couple can think they are amazing lovers and film themselves, it doesn't mean the production will be either of professional quality or worth watching by others.

I think the fan created Phase II is nothing like what the real Phase 2 would have been.  The planned Phase 2 was going to have a refitted ship and different sets for one thing.  Real actors for another.

Hello Ezri! It's on you tube, I got you a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEl0vq0CCLU. It's in three parts but the other two should be suggested when you're done with part 1.

And to Mr. Mathias: I also think it's juvenile that you spend such a vast quantity of time here and yet mainly talk down on people. Five thousand posts? Are they all this negative? Does it make you feel superior to the fans that acted out their star trek fantasies, even though they were doing work that was creative enough to merit actual attention from the stars themselves?

I love star trek. I love the plots, I love the continuity, I love the complexity, sciencey (well, at least pseudo-sciencey) parts, and morals of it. I have spent a lot of time watching it, and it's time I value even if I can't really communicate to my friends why I find it so compelling or quantify any solid thing that I've gotten out of it.

I cannot understand how your fandom would make you hate certain things about it enough to make you want to obsessively talk trash about it (15 posts on just this one subject).  Feel free to keep talking down to me but I don't like haters and I'll spar with you until it bores me.

Kaplah!

You’re a liar and busted, “Sunshine”.  Out of all the posters on this site, many who have been posting for years and may have high post counts, you decide to go after MR for posting an opinion? So, either you became obsessed after reading his one post on OGAM and decided to track his posting habits (how else would you know he spends a vast amount of time and mainly talks down to people?) OR you were aware of his posting habits all along because you had /have another name on this site.

Only you know the real answer, but if you behave like a troll, you will be reported.

Agree to disagree and keep it moving.

Well, to be fair, its easy to see how many posts someone has made, its under our avatars, so not much in the way of 'tracking' is needed, just moderate observational skills.

At the same time, Ive only been coming on here for a few weeks and Matthias is one of the many lovely people who have made me feel welcome and made me laugh. He quite clearly didnt like this film and thats ok isnt it? Anyway, you think thats bad, you should hear my views on George C's Solaris.... Oh boy just dont get me started, but I could make Matthias' take on this film sound like he positively loved it!

If you visited other topics, you'd see I rarely hate on anything or anyone here.  You are the one who insulted me in your first post so don't make me the bad guy.  15 negative comments in this one thread on a topic that I don't like compared to 5,000 positive or non judgemental comments on subjects I do like or am interested in doesn't make me obsessive. 4 posts spent attacking a fellow poster doesn't make someone obsessive either.

Feel free to point fingers and judge, but your reasoning is flawed and your personal criticism is without merit, especially when I'm not the only one to find this film undeserving of the praise it gets.

It was the total statement, paraphrased, "vast amount of time and mostly talk down to people." Sorry, Ezri, can't get that from a member post count. For someone who supposedly only showed up a few days ago, either he/she has stalked MR over the boards to form an opinion about his talking down to folks, is making up stuff because he/she disagrees with his opinion, or new name/old poster.

Also, he's not the only one who disliked OGAM who posted.

No biggie. Some like it, some don't.

Well, I've never had a stalker before, I'm kind of flattered.

Besides, on the previous page I actually said some nice things about this subject so I'm clearly not a complete hater.  I hate few things absolutely.
