any Ship that can last For three hours against The Borg handelded itself well

But it lasted as long as a Miranda.  Some say that was actually the Soyuz-class Bozeman which had been refit.  If that's the case, the Defiant lasted as long as a century old ship.  Granted Worf was in command; he probably put the ship at the front line continually and never fell back for a breather.

And the Bozemans captain is one of the best.  And if I was the Borg I'd set my sights on the Defiant whenever I could.  The Bozeman would be a low priority.

I think DS9 needed a warship, to defend itself.  Other ships, such as explorers, could visit there, but why tether an exploration vessel instead of sending it out to explore?
