the Scimmitar was, for lack of better description, the flagship of the Reman fleet, not the Romulan fleet, so to say that the ship was Romulan is incorrect.

But to answer your question, the Federation already has two ships that could be a match for the Scimmitar, the Defiant and Promethious Class. In fact the only advantage that it would have over those classes is the fireing cloak.

Do you think they would ever choose the Prometheus-class as the Enterprise-F? It would seem strange, don't you think?

of cource not, they usually use the newest ship design of the time for the Entperise. the only time they didn't what when they renamed that Constitution class ship Enterprise-A at the end of Trek IV.

As reminder in case you hadn't heard before this ship is obviously alike a Galaxy and the Enterprise NX-01. I don't have a image or a link at the moment but she's looking like the USS - Excalibur from STO. I once saw or video about her.

edit:

She's like only the transition from in this case missening bottom dorsal section with the nacelles and to the saucer.

I told Doug Drexler he should design an F for STO. He said he'd love to if he found the time. The Vesta is a pretty cool class. Wouldn't have a problem with the F being one of those.

Someone else, on the site about the most powerful ship, said that Voyager had been equipped with all the improvements it picked up in the Delta Quadrant; plus, it was equipped with quantum slipstream drive. So, perhaps the Enterprise-F might be like Voyager: a fully outfitted Intrepid-class ship.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN ENTERPRISE CLASS STARSHIP. ALTHOUGH THE MOST ADVANCED OF THAT DESIGN WAS NAMED ENTERPRISE. I BELIEVE THE NEXT DESIGN SHOULD BE A CROOS BETWEEN THE CONSTITUTION CLASS(NCC-1701), GALAXY CLASS(1701-D)AND INTREPID CLASS(VOYAGER). IN THIS DESIGN THE WARP NACELLE PYLONS ARE HORIZNTAL IN IMPULSE DRIVE(SUB-LIGHT SPEED) AND MOVE UP IN A DIAGONAL POSITION(WARP DRIVE) JUST LIKE VOYAGER!!!

That would be awesome! The variable-geometry pylons are what I like most about the Intrepid-class.

The variable geometry pylons make no sense. There is no doubt the F will have slipstream drive. The question is will it have cloak? With the Romulan government in shambles, why respect a treaty with them?

With respect Capt. Lew I must point out that the movie version of Enterprise was labeled an Enterprise Class Ship according to Mr. Scott's guide to the Enterprise. (an understandable occurance since, of the twelve constitution class Starships launched, the Enterprise was the only one to return from it's tour of service intact.)
granted, not many other sources aknowledge this designation, however it is out there. and IMHO it's a very good way to differentiate Series ships from their Movie siblings (of Which Enterprise is the only one we ever see. Enterprise -A was originally to bethe U.S.S. Ti-Ho NCC-1798 (She had just returned to Spacedock prior to the "Whalesong Crisis")

ok guys hang w me here....i'm just spit-ballin...how about the movable nacelles fr VGR, 4 nacelles instead of just 2 (it was in print a long time ago that 3 did not work successfully, hence the "Dreadnought" failure), give it the "break-apart" ability the one weapon ship had in that ep of VGR, and for weaponry utilize the phaser cannon (the one Riker's ENT-D had in "all good things...") and for torpedoes scrap the photons keep the quantums (1st Contact) and develop a Quasar torpedo.....just sayin.....btw can someone refresh my mem and tell me the title of the VGR ep where the EMH was stranded on that Starfleet ship that had that "break-apart" ability, was run by computer, and destroyed enemy targets?  thx!
