Ok, given the moderate success of my best couple poll, i decided to ask the next obvious question, who was the worst couple? NOTE: I did not add Riker/Troi and Paris/Torres as they seem to be everyone's favorite couple. If you feel that they are the worst though just mark other and explain.

My vote is for Worf/Troi, as, despite what we saw in the episode Parallels i always thought that Worf was moving in on a woman that everyone knew was supposed to end up with Riker (of course this could be my biased since Imzadi is one of my favorite TNG novels). Second is Rom/Leeta (seriously how could she leave Bashire for that, for lack of better term, idiot), and in third is the relationship that was doomed from the start, Neelix/Kes.

Worse couple? Difficult choice. It has to be which were the most boring - O'Brien/Keiko or Paris/Torres? Colm Meaney must be the most boring actor ever to enter Star Trek but the others aren't far behind...

Sorry Shuttle, but I can't agree. He was forgetable in TNG and I couldn't believe it when he was revived for DS9. He epitomises the run-of-the-mill ordinariness of many stock Hollywood actors. I have seen him in a number of films and he is basically the same rather irritatingly limited character. I guess its just individual taste. Some actors you can watch and some you can't. Kate Mulgrew is another with me. I find her voice irritating and scratchy.

My own guess about O'Brien was that some bright spark thought 'hey we had a Scot in TOS so why not an Irish guy in TNG?'

That would have been my vote too. I'm a total J/Cer, but I think the Nelix/Kes couple was way worse. At least Chakotay and Seven looked good on screen and was somewhat believable. The same would go for Worf/Troi. However, Nelix/Kes was just awful in every sense of the word and practically screamed pedelphia

I like everybody, even the people I don't like. They make things interesting. ;) Trying to get into the Nexus? Use this link: http://s13.zetaboards.com/NexusTrek/index/

Yeah, you're right.  That seemed like a rather one-sided relationship, don't you think?

In Kirsten Beyer's book, Unworthy, Neelix has married a Talaxian woman, Dexa, and has started a family.  They seem better suited.

Hard to tell - I hardly know any of them. I don´t think Worf and Troi would´ve worked in the long term, but I thought it was interesting to see them together :-)

Imzadi II was funny, when Lwaxana Troi tried to teach Worf to be more artistic and empathic.

Neelix/Kes was more of a mutual crush than a serious relationship, so I picked them.

Rom/Leeta were pretty bad (two of Trek's most annoying characters, IMO) but I voted for Sisko/Cassidy Yates, just because Cassidy was incredibly boring. They tried to inject some drama by making her join the Maquis (or something? Did that actually happen?) but then they decided that never happened. The actress was capable of better, but apparently the writers weren't.

I hated the Worf Troi thing - that always seemed forced and the actors did not have any chemistry.
The relationship seemed to exist purely to drive Riker nuts.

I actually think the most forced relationship was Sisko and Casidy Yates. They never seemed right for each other, and I could never figure out how he could grow attached to a woman who was not a believer in the Prophets. Just seemed odd.

Neelix & Kess. BC i just don't like Neelix. He was annoying, whiney, & not at all attractive.  Kess was a hottie. She could do much better.

The Troi/Worf thing trips me out. bc you know any white girl who has sex with klingons likes it rough... & is most likely a fiend in the bedroom. And this knowledge destroys my idea of Deanna as the softspoken romantic Imzadi of her Riker days.  I just can't help but picture her & Worf smacking each other around & other weird klingon-things that must go on behind closed doors.....

Actually i can picture it, and it doesn't really bother me all that much, but then agian i have read Vulcan's Heart (at least i think that was the book) where Spock and Savaak pretty much destroy their bedroom during that time of the Decade. I can't imagine Klingon sex being that destructive.
