For example, check out the STO forums:

Share links from other boards too, please.  What do you like about them that should be implemented here?

The point I'm making is not administrative issues but appearance and presentation. The "look" of the site. Also, features that will draw in fresh members.  There are several trek forums out there with more active members.  What about those boards draws people in?

I'd like this site to look more like Star Trek - possibly LCARS styling.

I completely agree. That just seems obvious to me.

And since about the only current activity going on in the realm of Star Trek is the books, they really should be pushing that here with a book club or something.

Totally agree with the book club idea. Indeed it seems that the Admins are paying little to no attention to this site.
It would be awesome if you could look at all the pictures that have been posted in the galleries on one page - similar to the image search results on Google search.

Seeing as this is the "official" site, why not provide exclusive content to members. It could range from unique fonts to unique avatars to hundreds of other ideas. Why not turn this site into a money maker?

It certainly has made almost no money off me. It does not cross promote items, it does not have ads on virtually any page, It has very little content to speak of, and could really amp up the money it makes while giving fans the things they want.

Most MB's I've been at the Admins and Mods seem to actually care about what the members have to say, good &/or bad. Certain things would be nice, true. I agree with P100 and think that any changes now might be too little too late.

Ya know, I've said this before but if TPTB and Admin really want to kill this site, then simply tell us and we'll go find a new home that will care about us Star Trek Fans.

The sto boards change regularly based upon user content. That forum had undergone upgrades at least 4 times in the past year and that site is all about making money. I think the fact that they respond to users not only through implementation, but through admin-user live discussion makes a big difference.
In the last 6 months this site has made one major visual/interactive change- changing the order posts are seen. And that just popped up one day with no prior communication, it was insulting.

Here's another pretty good one. It's a really small site (it has about ten active members, including myself, but things should pick up once the game is released), but it's well-designed and fuctional, and the admins/moderators are all reasonably active.

I have not seen an admin post here in months. I really get the feeling that they are ignoring this site. The server bogs down on a regular basis and it seems half finished.

Wow. I went to that site. Very nice MR, loads of users and content.

If we could get even half the improvements they have on that site here, I would be a happy camper.

It is hard to grasp from the site overall appearance what exactly the focus of the site is. It seems to be geared towards new users.
