Above is the link to an article claiming that her remains were found.  I'm really disappointed.  I was really hoping she was abducted by aliens and kept in stasis in the Delta quadrant.

22 years of searching and 10 expeditions and all they find is a tiny part of a finger which didnt match DNA, id say you should still believe shes somewhere in the delta quadrant

That couldn't have been Earhart in the delta quadrant. She wasn't ugly enough. Lol.

Several of the historical facts given in the Star Trek universe have already not happened in our world, so it's fair to assume that whatever happened to Amelia in our universe didn't necessarily happen to her in that one.

That's because they won't allow ugly women in sci fi.

It doesn't matter if they did find her remains.
The concept in Voyager is a nice concept and fun to watch.

I love the 37's!!! Awesome episode. But yeah, they found some little bone and the test results were inconclusive. So who knows. More then likely she was taken prisoner by the Japanese, there are several POWs that claim they saw her.

Oh Snap.

I was NOT referring to the episode.
I was referring to real life.
Even if they did find her remains in real life it would not detract from the episode where they found her alive.

Makes you wonder how competent these
eggheads are, that they can't even keep
track of their own specimens ... like a
celebrities possible remains!

Amelia was a great angle for a story in
Voyager, considering how she and Janeway
have so much in common with eachother:
Both butch, potential lesbians,craving
power, publicity and a place in history.

I don't see what went wrong with "The 37's." That episode was written during Voyager Season 1, in 1995. As if they had a clue back then that people during the year 2010 will find evidence otherwise.

It's the same thing as the Eugenics Wars - it was written into Trek in 1966, and it was said to happen in 1999. It's 2011, and we don't have that in our history books. Who knows: Maybe we'll get to the year 2063 and we'd still have no warp drive. Or World War III.

Although, it would have been great if Earhart joined the USS Voyager crew. It's not a violation of the Temporal Prime Directive, like Dr. Taylor in TVH.

Regarding her and her co-pilot being on somekind of spy mission...yeah the writers probably got that right. After reading several books about her disasppearnce and the search for her plane, I'm now of the belief that her plane experienced somekind of mechanical failure forcing them to ditch the plane on some tiny island or it did in fact crash and perhaps she and Noone were captured and possibly killed by the Japanese.
