Ladies,
I've been letting it slide, until now. But you can call me "Mister Frakes"
... if you're nasty.
Warmest Regards, 2takesfrakes

2takes, as Minister of Defense of Androids etc, I must point out that women who side their loyalties with Data have little chance of changing their minds... as handsome and manly and-so-on-and-so-forth as our dearest Riker may be.
But honestly... it is like asking a woman to prefer a diamond ring to a diamond necklace. Sure, the ring has a lot going for it, but the necklace has so much more.

Ah! Thank you, Roboto.
I've only ever issued
a "Pearl Necklace" to
a lady myself, however.

>As to my jealousy "of Data's success" with wymin ... he's only had 1 "girlfriend," whose name I forget. A 1-Night-Stand with Yar. And a - presumed - sexual encounter with The Borg Queen. That's 3 wymin, as I count them - and none in rapid succession!
>Nope. Not jealous. Genuine concern, konarciq. ServalanFan's answer is the most rational, while SurfsUp's response has left me completely boggled. Can Data give you girls MAN-SEED?!! ... CAN he?!! You overrate his "gifts," trust me, when I say that.

I meant Data´s success with us :-D I´m sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Frakes, but it´s most of all Riker´s attitude as a ladies´ man (and not a very loyal one) that I very much dislike in him. At least that´s something I don´t see Data capable of.
As for what Mommy and Daddy would think in case I´d bring home a very humanlike robot like Data as my intended - LOL read your history, my boy. For centuries and centuries on end, sons and daughters have married the "wrong" people according to their parents. Did they let their parents´ concerns stop them? Some might have, yes. But in these days, where personal freedom of choice has been elevated to almost a religion, I imagine they´d be worried, yes, but I don´t think many ladies would let themselves be stopped from marrying Data just because of their parents´ concern.

As for that point, in the above post, I must concur. What century are you living in, sir? Yes, you, 2takes. Because my parents cannot decide everything for me, especially since I share very little in common with them.

Ladies, perhaps my introducing the potential of Family Judgement was in error. But that doesn't justify taking an alarmist's position!
In fact, I find modern day women's physical relationships with mechanized devices to be very ... stimulating.
And, I'll admit, I do find it surprising that so many wymin on this site would prefer Data to a real, live, human man.
You ladies bring such pleasure. You give life! Where have we human males failed to show our appreciation of you, in that light? Please ... come back to us. Come BACK to us ...

... Message Received!
With Data, there can be none of the subtlety, or flare needed for satisfying love-making. The rest of you ladies, I hope, are paying attention and taking notes, here.

Why should I? a) I have a boyfriend, b) I have morals, and c) he's fictional. And with that last point, he's as skilled or unskilled, pre-programmed or unpredictable as we wish.

Why should you, indeed! Perhaps, what you ladies really want is a Data for the living room and Lore in the bedroom? That's what it's sounding more like, to me.
Whatever.
You wymin would willingly bed and wed Data. Maybe, I'll accept it ... but I'm in shock about all this!

I don´t know how much variation one would want, but we know from the series that Data is programmed in multiple techniques of lovemaking. (Who cares who programmed him with those? Multiple techiques are multiple techniques!) And he has a great ability to learn. So I imagine it would get as boring as you´d let it to.

Perhaps you men should try to behave more like him? LOL
Anyway, seems to me you´re jumping to generalized conclusions here. The results of the poll may indicate a clear interest in marrying Data (as well as a clear disinterest from others!), but of your main discussion partners here, it seems to me there is only one of us "seriously" considering this.
But where in the universe did you get the idea that we´d want Lore? Again, I can´t speak for any of the others, but really... Lore?!
If you go back to my first post in this thread, you´ll realize that he´s about the last man I´d want to have in my bed. Or even in the house. The last I would want for a friend as well: he´s dishonest, deceitful, unreliable, cruel, extremely self-centered... no sirree, that´s a guy I´d rather see locked up somewhere in the Omicron quadrant :-)

konarciq, I have to say it: The responses, so far, to why wymin would marry Data, a robot, have raised as many questions as they've answered ...
That's the Conundrum.
I'm beginning to suspect that you ladies fantasize your ex's face, when he discovers the ULTIMATE insult -- by having him be followed-up with ... a TOASTER! Oh, the SUPREME indignity! And finally, you will have gotten your revenge!!!

Honestly, I'm starting to LOL. Although first I cringed at the mention of Lore. Uh, no. Who'd want him?
A rephrase of an applicable saying, "A fantasy, is a fantasy, is a fantasy". Or as konarciq put it, "multiple techniques are multiple techniques!"
