No. I wouldn't marry Data. I'd probably cause him to short circuit anyways. So how would I be able to fix him? Can't just very well take him down the road to the local mechanical shop.
He'd be the coolest friend to hang with though.

You cannot have a real relationship with an android. At least not in the sense that Data is an Android. There is nothing you can have but sex and longing. Sure. He's a sentient being & a nice enough guy. But you know what? Alot of guys are there are "sentient" & even "nice". But any girl willing to settle for a man (ie- MARRY or even date a man) who will never love her back (who CAN never love her back) is a bit sad if you ask me. They need to step back & take a good deep look at themselves & wonder where their own self esteem went. Every woman deserves to be loved by the man (or woman) she chooses to be with. Alot of people settle down with people who don't love them. These people are usually pitied by others, are the subjects of crappy television dramas, lifetime movies, sad novels, & the like. if these relationships do last they are not happy ones. Unless you're a vulcan or an android yourself, such a thing will get old before too long.
This, of course, assumes no emotion chip. & you better hope the damn thing doesn't blow out on you bc there's no Dr. Soong around to make you another one.
Also, if you're just in it for the sex, well then by all means, carry on. like i said. glorified talking dildo. That's all he really could ever be.

short term = they tried & it didn't work. otherwise it would have been longterm. Not to mention he was obviously "rebound". She used him to get over her ex & he used her as an experiment in love. Does it even really qualify as a "relationship" anywhere above the most basic use of the word? He even TELLS her when he picks a fight with her that it was a test to see whawt would happen, & told her that all of his behavior is based on a program and is therefore artificial. there can not be a real human/love relationship that is based on artificiality. Especially wen the artificiality is onesided. What if she falls ln love? how sad is it to love someone who can't or doesn't love you back? it hurts! even when they're nice to you. you can be friends but hyou'll just end up bitter & frustrated. that's no way to go through life.

the anger, the happiness, the willingness to please, the wanting, the longing, the loving, the passion the sadness of events that occur... excitement over everyday suprises the highs & lows of life that we feel & share with our loved ones are what give our relationships the "ooomph" the need to be GOOD & FULLFILLING. not just "hey friend lets copulate. watch to try it lotus position 7.283 style tonight? i've been accessed my databanks & determined that if i put my left let here & you..."
no. that's not marriage. it's the other stuff. if i can't come home excited about a job or dying in laughter bc of a movie i just saw or bursting with joy bc my daughter just said her first words or mad at my boss & wanting to scream & rant only to have a weird looking yellow guy standing there with a blank look on his face studying me, trying badly to mimic me & saying "i am sorry. i cannot feel anger." or "i have read it s a very exciting experience when a child says her first words so i will act excited for you" or say Of course i do not have "cold feet" i do not feel anxiety. It is 5.345 minutes before we walk down the isle. Here let me assist you"i would immedately have to punch him in the throat & divorce him.

A Vulcan can be just as cold. Be nice to see a few let their hair down. Spocky is only half and he finds it hard to show human emotion. They must be wild during the "Pon farr" season though. The mind boggles. LOL!
