Love this biased poll. People love MMORPGs because of the community of players, indeed that is the appeal of all online gaming.
So if you want to play by yourself, enjoy, but if you want to play with others - pay up.

DESPRETELY WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME!
But as a 13 year old, 15 dollars a month is going to be a challenge - hopefully I'll find a way!

You could beat up nerds for their lunch money.

That is what I did.

Nerds are fun to beat up.

Great game. Played in non stop for 5 months. They're adding new content all the time now, and Season 3 just started.

If you love Star Trek, play STO. I have never played an MMO before STO, and was able to pick it up in a week tops.

I didn't mind %15 a month, as I felt it was worth it, and I got my monies worth.

I only left, because I was at the level cap and bored. They started there weekly mission after and have more stuff going on. I'll probably go back early next year.

Once again, it's a lot of fun.

The new weeklys were great stories and were improvements on the game play. Apparently a well know mmo writer joined the game awhile back and is spearheading improvements. I reached a point where I need to join a fleet to get anything out of it, but it is still fun and the best way to have your trek fantasies.

No. No, not really. It sure doesn't do much for exploration.

$15 isnt a bad price. You have to remember that the monye made from the cost of the game goes towards keeping the servers up and running as well as paying people to bring you the game itself.

Eve online is roughly the same price which is well worth the price. Otherwise you can sit around and listen to the monkies throw their spiel on t.v. or read about nonsense in the local newspaper.

$15 for an hour of your sisters time to sit with her and drink tea or $15 for a month's subscription of STO.

Exactly, $15 a month for your Trek fantasy. Also, they do regularly improve the game and the forums.

Look around more, a lot of stores are selling the STO time cards at discounted prices. I got the collector's edition for around 7€ and then bought two 60 day time cards for 4€ each. That way I won't have to pay the subscription fee until march 2011, and by then I'll probably have experienced as much of the game as I'd want to.
