not nessesarily, everyone that was decended from the people who didn't get off of Vulcan in time are no longer around. The same goes for any medical advancements that would have been made on the planet by scientists that were lost or decended from those that were lost. So who to say that someone like Picard, who has an artificial heart, is still alive, as a key component of that heart could have been invented by a vulcan that either lost their life or was decended from someone that lost thier life. I will also point out that vulcan characters like Tuvok might not have been born either as his family might have been on planet at that time (i know many may think this was a good thing, but i was just pointing it out).
tuvok's parents were on a vulcan lunar colony so he'll be born.

Hmm, interesting point, but they still could have been on planet for some reason (visiting family, a conference, ect.)

Granted i know that i am the one that originally stated that they may not exist in the altered timeline, but what makes you so sure that they won't be there at all?

Nice cartoons. As stated ONE MILLION TIMES: the standard or "Prime" timeline exists and continues to move forward - although without good old Spock. The ALTERNATE timeline also exists and will be dramatized in various movies.

Seeing as the artificial heart has already been developed in our century I think that even alternate timeline Picard will be quite alright.

Does anyone remember the episode in the original series when the Vulcan greeting was a "challenge/reply" greeting? Th4e challenge was "Peace and long life", and the response was the accepted "Live long and prosper"".
