Does anyone have a count on how many Star Trek novels (all series combined) that have been written?

Psi Phi has this list, "inclusive of the September 2008 books."

http://www.psiphi.org/cgi/upc-db/booklist.html

Those are only, I believe, the Pocket Books. They don't list the Bantam Books, i.e. the James Blish adaptations, ADF's Logs, and the original stories.

For ALL of them, see The Complete Starfleet Library http://www.well.com/~sjroby/lcars/index.html

You are looking at - a guestimate here - 520+ and about an average of 10 or so new books released each year.

If I entered everything in correctly into my database, I currently own 525 Trek books and have 15 more that I haven't gotten yet, but I've been collecting them for just over years now.

That's awesome!  I thought I was the only one who was interested in collecting them.  Not close to a complete collection, though.

If you're collecting - just figure out what you really want. Also, watch what you buy - they sometimes re-release things in different forms, like an omnibus or similar. What I do as I find them is put everything in my database and then identify which ones I have, which ones I want, which ones I want to wait on (like a paperback that's currently a hardback) and which ones I just don't want at all. From there, I have a report function that tell me which ones I'm missing.

(I just found a couple of stores through Amazon that have "new" condition books that were originally published in the 80's. They should be here Friday, so we'll see what condition they're in.)

Good to know.  Recently I've been reading the Titan series.  I'd like to get caught up on series that are still being written.  Exciting to wait for a new one to come out.  I also read the Star Wars novels.  You too?

I've never read any Star Wars books. My library consists mostly of "serious" stuff (history, finance & money, religion, politics and information technology.) Star Trek is my dessert.

Well, after nearly completing my DVD collection of Star Trek, I'm about to move onto the books. I have about 15 at the mo, but I'm adament about getting more. When I move onto the books I will also move onto memorabilia, so it may take me a while to get all the books.

Just saw someone's book collection in the Gallery (http://startrek.com/gallery_slide/forgotten-treasures?image_id=5)... I need to take photos of mine and post them too.
