Well, I for one am very happy because they finally listened. I really thought they totally didn't care and that we might be stuck with a mess. I really do want to see the board up and running smoothly again and I hope in time we re-establish are community and meet some really great new people as well. So anytime they do something right, I will be happy and cheer them on and if I don't like a change I will also let them know.

I think that's only right. It should work both ways.

>I see your points. It is a good thing in the long run im sure. It just seems they are taking their time with it is all.
I also see your point and understand your frustration with the amount of time it took. But now that they have finally began to do something, I would rather focus on that. They made some changes a week ago and now some more this week. Things are beginning to move in the right direction and I'm really happy about that. I'm willing to just let the past go. There are still a few more fixes I'd like to see, but so far I'm very happy with the progress and am willing to thank them for it.

because we appreciate it being fixed. We aren't actually paying for any of this you know, they don't have to do anything for us.

don't know if you've noticed but the boards don't even have ads anymore like they used to. The message boards generate nothing for cbs and it is a company trying to stay afloat like everything else.

I choose to thank them for at least showing they are listening to us when they do some improvements.

True, I also think that the boards shouldn't have been launched as they were. At the very least, the old ST.com should have been left up and running while this one went through it's beta testing, with a few volunteers from the old board to help test this one. Then when all bugs and glitches are fixed is when they should have open this one for a couple of weeks before closing the old site.

But, since that didn't happen and this site launched with all kinds of bugs and glitches we have to deal with it as it is. So when things are fixed and glitches are taken care of, then I'll tell them, Admin, 'Thanks' for fixing the bugs and glitches as they get them fixed.

Yeah, it's taking some time to get things fixed, but I think they still deserve a thank you. If I were in the Admin's shoes and just fixed something, I'd like a thanks instead of more complaining. I think we should still ask for certain features and for glitches to be fixed, but I think we should also say thanks for the work that they're doing and for listening to us.

It is common courtesy to say thank you or it was appreciated when someone does something for you.

I haven't noticed or seen any ads on any website for the past 3 years because I use firefox with ad block plus. So that's neither here nor there. The fact remains ever time you go and put a TREK related piece of merchandise, part of that money goes to running this website. It doesn't matter if it's a TREK DVD or Recycled TREK toilet paper..... In the end we the fans actually contribute to the money that is used to run the message boards. They know that we make them money that's the whole reason this site is here in their mind.

"I-I Admiral."

Everytime we post, there is money to be made, not to mention the offset in revenues into other areas.

It's strange, being a catalyst for things that move outside.
