I think Seer's right. There's so much copyright and trademark stuff, it's probably a hassle to deal with.

I belong to a website specifically for Fan Fic, mainly Voyager J/C fic. Anyway, from what I've read ther. Star Trek used to accept fan scripts, like you said Seer, but they changed their policy. No unsolicited fics are allowed anymore. They didn't say why, but I think they had people claiming that certain plots were submitted by them and wanted royalties.
