I apolgize for jumping the gun, what I meant to say is that there is a motion made by fans to make this an official star trek series.
They have two settings: stun and kill... It'd be best not to confuse them. ~~ Lt. Reed

I agree with you. It'd be nice if they at least made a few two-parters in the mirror universe.

I agree. Besides, you are pretty restricted what happens, when you have to bring the series up to a certain point in time. By projecting a series into the "unwritten" future, you have almost unlimited opportunities for species, places and timeline developments.

Yes, creating a series in the 25th century would be the logical thing to do. I want to see the technology grow throughout the series more than it has. I want to see what has become of civilisations like the Cardassians, the Bajorans and the Delta Quadrant Aliens (Kazon, Ocampa, Borg etc). I want to see the relationships between cultures grow or weaken, either could make the story better or bigger.

Well i watched the first episode and it seems like an excellent fan based show. i hope they continue to have success. it's neat to see people try to create something new out of Star Trek.

Ug, no mirror universe series! A special every now and then can be cool, but stick with the regular Trek!

Allthough this climpse of a new ST series is exactly what I been expecting to come. That's all I since ENT ended up with „these are the Voyages...“ was hoping for. With the content and time after TNG (DS9) about a nearly esential staff & ship. Likewise what concludes to STO & ST XI similar to the Enterprise – J, Braxton of the Relativity & the alternate timeline - where Cpt. Nog & Cpt. Beverly Crusher have been (the uniform).
Even this is not with the Dominion and evenmore takes place in 25th Century, I'd still hope the fan series makes it into the Television soon.

The Phoenix stuff looks ok, I wouldn't mind it. Actually, as a hardcore trekker, I wouldn't mind any new Star Trek series, even if it featured the current ("Spartacus" etc) trends of lots of violence, sex and harsh language (well times change...) as long as it is a good sf with good stories, good techno-thriller action, featuring the Borg, Cardassians, Klingons, Romulans... And WITHOUT the standard soap opera stuff, masked as SF (people falling in love with each other every day in all possible combinations, getting married, having kids, playing and being interested in baseball, talk shows in bars, old automobiles etc. I wish they stopped creating the main characters in such an old fashioned way - at the cultural level of a mediocre U.S. cowboy from the 20th century. I mean, the future will not only bring us the warp drives, holodecks, replicators and transporters - it might also bring a new resource-based society, the scientific methodology and AIs might replace the concept of democracy, the replicators might destroy the money-based economy and need for personal property and it all might create a new mentality - religions and nations might become superfluous, people might start having several regular pertners without jelaousy or guilt or do it with androids, the children might be created in labs... Why not speculate in that direction as well - I guess they are afraid of the conservative audience...
I only hope they will not follow the path and style of the latest Gallactica series - the only sf series in my life that I stopped watching after the first 2 seasons - everything I hate in SF was there in enormous quantities - from lack of imagination to "typical 20th century americans" to trying to "bend" sf to the low level of non-sf audience...
Otherwise I liked all ST series, even the ST Enterprise (it is actually the second on my list, right after the Voyager) I don't understand why they had to stop it so early, it had good action, stories were ok, good characters and acting and it was interesting to see how they managed to solve the problems with "low" technology. DS9 was the worst for me - a mere soap opera, masked as sf plus that I don't like the Ferengi characters at all - I see them as yet another try to depict the current, average U.S. mentality as something positive and acceptable, plus they are not serous, they belong in a ST parody, if you ask me.
And no Q character, please - no more of the psychological masturbation of the kind and no more actors of the kind, who think that making funny faces is the same as good acting.
So I sincerely hope for the new series - and I also hope they make it available in HD (blu ray), each season immediately after airing.
(Only my PERSONAL opinions up there - no obligations for anyone else to think along the same lines - before you angrily jump at your Kboard and try to explain why my PERSONAL views of ST and in general are "wrong" and yours are "right"!)
