Recently watched ST: ENT episode 'Breaking the Ice' and they were talking about the grade school kids questions. When Capt. Archer got to the question about what happens when they flush a toilet he passed that on to Trip. Trip asked for the recording to be paused and said something about getting, "A poop question?"

They did seem to talk more about toilets and bathrooms more in ENT than the other shows.

It was never shown because TV execs didn't want toilet scenes in their shows, it was considered too low brow. Can you imagine watching TOS and seeing Kirk step off a 24th century transporter pad and head into a 1960's style WC?

If you can read this it means I've got something to work on here.

ive got the blueprints to the enterprise d and it shows bathrooms on the prints. theres one in picards ready room in the back past the fish tank and replicator and one on the bridge on the left of the door that goes to the observation lounge. Could you imagine sitting on the toilet when the saucer crashed on Veridian 3 and you were thrown out of the bathroom with your pants down. lol

Yeah, I've ALWAYS windered that...maybe there are MAGICAL toilets. But in Star Trek 1st Contact, Cochrane tells Geordi that he needs to "take a leak". And aftter he tells Geordi what it means, he seems to really know. So there MUST be at least 1 toilet on the Enterprise D.

oh yeah, theres actually a bunch of them on the blue prints. i even counted over 40 holodecks on the prints. of course there would have to be to accomodate over 1000 people.

The blueprints of the Enterprise-D show commodes in every quarters on the ship, and there are "heads" on the Main Bridge, and--presumably--also in the Ready Room and Observation Lounge, as well as in other common areas.

However, the doors to the heads on the Main Bridge seem to face toward the main viewscreen.  That creates the possibility that someone could open the door while the Captain is trying to negotiate a tense situation with the Romulans or Chancellor Gowron!

So, although it would probably require more space and construction-materials, it might be better to design the Main Bridge so that the doors that open to the heads there face away from the main viewscreen!

What if the captain has diarrhea and is needed to negotiate a tense situation? Or what if there is a race like the one in ent that had bizarre diplomacy rituals that demand COMPLETE openness? Those lavatories were probably well thought out! Also, it encourages you to double check your fly. But then, do they have flies in the 24th century?

I remember that DS9 had one episode where one of the main characters had to gather evidence to prove Odo wasn't a murder, and we got to see a toilet.

Let there be pants.
